Amazon should really screen for mental health when they hire
Are you surprised? This is the same company that tried to put people in literal cages until they got caught.
if i was going to have to work in a warehouse I'd rather sit down in a nice cozy cage than walk everywhere.
hahahah full story pls

Found the fatass on antidepressants
It came out that management filed a patent for a cage to protect workers from machines going haywire, pic related (minus wojak of course). Instead, I believe they ended up going with a design for a vest that shuts off machines if they get too close to the worker. Obviously most companies will overspend on things like patents to secure a broad range of options for technology, but you have to think twice about the humanity of someone who thought it was a passable idea to put workers in cages like this.
Other warehouses have productivity measures too but what makes amazon so bad is that they keep you doing the same thing.
other places realize this and shift you around different departments but amazon - you do the same repetitive thing for 8 to 12 hours a shift 4 to 5 days a week.
Most amazon pickers also walk everywhere. Other places, at least you get to operate machinery
There's also a work culture of managers being jerks at amazon (works it way down from Bezos) so that's why a lot can't handle it. Life is bearable as a warehouse wagie, but not as an amazon warehouse wagie.
