It's a better Bitcoin.

Literally nothing like bitcoin but could very easily rival it in marketcap in 5 years.

I see what you're doing, nice galaxy you've got there.
Justin Torres
It's not even a coin, so no. Unless I'm confusing this for something else
Ethan Anderson
Kek oh man if I had a galaxy I would be swimming in cocaine and titties right now, not posting on a Congolese equestrian forum. I'm just a comfy user who has incentive to pump his own bags. I do ultimately want Jow Forumstards to own a sizable amount of address space so we can take our rightful place as feudal lords of the digital realm. That said, prices are pretty fucked up right now.
Urbit address space is trading as NFTs on Ethereum.
Easton Long
ERC-721 what's the difference?
Christopher Phillips
It's gonna dump soon, galaxy owners are getting impatient.
Next year will be the time to buy, look for prices in the $500 range. Don't fall for Jewish offers, opensea is a joke. $5000 is a major joke. Urbit stars are valuable but not as scarce as we think, make no mistake they will vanish from the market at some point and will go to some unimaginable price, but the NEETs still have time to get in without an arm and a leg.
Ethan Hernandez
>a very long term hold
I'll just buy it before something major happens, thank you. Had enough "long-term holding" with the .
John Jones
Migration to Ethereum is probably the most major thing that happened with this project ever.
Mmm $500 stars I would love that. Let's hope everyone reading this gets in on this.
Big difference.
Daniel Perez
Do you have a star anonmi? Got lucky, this board turned me on to it.
What are your plans for your Urbit?
William Torres
One is for me, the other ones I will auction off in 5-10 years.
I owe it to an user here who tipped me off on this gem back in July. I checked their blog multiple times a day as they made their way towards the Azimuth launch. I picked up my stars OTC before they even hit OpenSea.
Michael Sanchez
Sick. Last year some tribesman tried to sell me a star for a whole BTC.
I kept delaying, and am really glad I did.
What makes you think there will be such a glut of stars on the market? Once there are multiple galaxies issuing (other than Joshua) and supply increases parabolic?
Hunter Ward
Tell me about the Tilde, user
Jeremiah Morris
I hope you're right. I've been following and prices were not as high just a couple months ago in January, or during previous sales. Imo they are still atleast a year away from actual network usage, let alone normie compatibility, so the recent surge in price seems off to me. I watched the livestream in SF and they seemed delighted by a mere 33 people watching live. I'm interested but the opportunity cost of selling my other holdings or spending income on address space does not seem worth it right now. I'm wondering if galaxy/star owners are trying to pump their addresses in the short term. There really isn't enough use on the horizon to warrant this. Long term I still believe it's a potential game changer. We should definitely set up a biz server of high iq [redacted] autists in the future. How do you know galaxy owners are getting impatient? I would assume anyone with a galaxy already has other wealth and revenue streams, and also understands it's a long term play.
Cooper Watson
Joshua has been issuing stars from several different galaxies, including ~ten, which was dipped into during the last star sale. So I don't know if he was given partially depleted galaxies or just got a bunch in package. Regardless, I don't think he is selling anymore right now. Jeremy is probably not going to negotiate down from his $5k price. 2018 galaxies buyers paid $1M apiece and will probably not want to sell for under $5k. Early adopters might dump some since it was basically free for them.
Jace Wood
where do you guys get your stars from?
Gavin Parker
opensea.io
Very overpriced right now.

A few more just popped up for sale I guess Josh isn't done selling them.

aren't those planets?

Filter by price or token id
Jeremiah Anderson
Do not buy a planet by accident. Street shitters are trying to rip people off.
Cooper Perez
Because the real demand is for stars, not planets. Tlon just has to pretend they don't exist after ICO mania. Planets are for chumps/hobbyists/bagholders. We shouldnt have to fork over half an ETH to get a measly planet. Anyone that was using Urbit before the proper launch recently got a free planet as soon as they ran it. The market is uneven; there are too many stars not to dump but this isn't a traditional market. Urbit stars are like taxi medallions. They are non fungible and as time goes on it will become more and more difficult to change hands like it is now.
Based on what I know I expect 50-100 stars to drop in the next couple months. Scarcity is key here, we don't understand digital scarcity very well.
John Carter
Only 10k people will ever have 6.5 stars, if we base it off ****'s ICO that's 10kUSD so about $1600 per star
$500 per star would be the equilvalent of 3cents per ****
Mason Jones
how does the spawning mechanism work? Is there a resource to learn how much stars/galaxies/planets get spawned per day?
Gavin Scott
Is the only way to buy a star now from a holder or is Tlon going to sell some off again? Opensea prices are a joke.
Gavin Reed
This is on a completely different level from L***
Owen Clark
There's a timeline on the site, most stars unlock over the next 4 years
Bentley Lewis
It's safe to say no more star sales ever. OpenSea or find a Galaxy owner.
Wyatt Young
Stars are spawned at the discretion of Galaxy owners, as long as it abides by the unlocking timelime.
Parker Flores
I was probably on that same thread as you back in july or whenever it was. Man I really wanna get involved in this. I'd probably even learn the Hoon and start trying to build shit but not much incentive rn. How did you manage to find a galaxy owner/ seller?
James Taylor
The Urbit community is extremely active on Twitter. You could even find galaxy owners there but I will not mention.any specifics.
Anthony Davis
Tlon employees can do whatever they want with their stars, they just have to sell them privately
Caleb Rodriguez
>5k per star
>he bought a galaxy for 1mil
that means urbit is already at 256mil USD in marketcap wtf
if stars really get to $500 per star he's gonna get JUSTed
Kayden Reed
Galaxies are worth far more than the stars they spawn though. It's really hard to get a fair valuation of shit like this.
Michael Allen
each galaxy has 255stars so if stars are 500 per piece his galaxy is worth 125k
Anyone who bought a galaxy for 1mil cannot sell his stars below 4k
Landon Turner
Bro, Galaxies have governance rights and far less competition than stars do. If you own a galaxy you immediately have massive clout on the Urbit network. They probably will not be selling their stars for less than $5k though they need to realize some ROI om this meme network.
Colton Wright
Did the senate powers of the galaxy owners come into play during the decision to migrate onto Ethereum? What types of events do you predict they will vote on in the future?
Christian Rodriguez
Now that Tlon no longer controls the Urbit address space, any decision to move off of Ethereum will go to a galactic Senate vote. Granted Tlon still owns like half of that but they will lose more power going forward.
Ryder Davis
Also you best believe that galaxies will charge stars for any and all services rendered. This is why Urbit has a bad reputation as having a ponzi structure.
Julian Walker
Sentimental faggotry incoming:
I just want to say, lads, I truly believe this is /our coin/, moreso than Holo, Chainlink or anything else on the market today. I appreciate all of the replies to this thread and I want every single one of you to make it one day. The next few years are extremely crucial to our financial futures and we need to make the right moves. God bless.
Carson Davis
By the way I'm the main user who has been shilling this the past month. I have one more gem up my sleeve but I need for it to go live before I can really start shilling it here. In the meantime check out foam.space this is another one with unironic paradigm shift potential.
James Flores
lol I occasionally search for urbit on waruso and sure enough there's a thread by you. I appreciate your efforts user. I just my star thats all.
Jason Russell
Just paying it forward, Jow Forumsbros. I want us to dump on smug redditors at 1000x. You want to tell your grandkids about making it from memeing on an Bengali pottery image board right?
