so im 22 years old now, quit uni and now im lost in space with all this shit jobs
im considering going to the army (it was kinda always a dream of mine)
anons of 25+ years old wwyd if you were 22 again, what choices would you make to improve your life (also for your financel situation ofc)
I need your help older bizlets
If you don't know what to do with your life and have no real interests, the military isn't a bad option. Good benefits, good on resume, and it'll teach you to be strong.
Get your apprenticeship at your local union going and be making 120k a year after 3 years of hard work. Dont loose the idea that hard work is peasant work.. hard work brings hard money and thats the truth, unless you want to be a faggot working at starbucks for minimum wage.
What were you studying?
yeah i think that too
im from germanistan, what do you mean with local union?
my idea was to be a teacher, lasted 2 semesters but i still like the idea of teaching people per se but not now and not in this branche
Improve your ability to be social (making connections will help you down the road)
Figure out where your passions are (not shit like video games, something you can make money in)
Make money doing said passions
Prepare to become your own boss
You can make money in video games tho
>Figure out where your passions are (not shit like video games, something you can make money in)
thats the hard part, im looking and looking after jobs etc but there isnt anything really interesting for me (besides military)
its a shitty situation and i will call the army to get an interview but i also want to look for other things
Im old as shit and my greatest regret hands down is not traveling all over the world while I was still young. I was just so concerned with chasing girls and getting laid in my early 20's. That was fun, but you can still do that while you're traveling, would be even more exciting. And who knows who you'd meet? Go have some fucking crazy experiences man.....money isn't everything.
im not really interested in traveling the world
maybe visiting a few countries in my holidays but not more
I'm 19yo so not much experience to give lol, but if you like the army then do that and if you can, then move to USA military and try to get into some pentagon jobs or CIA. That's what I would do. I know it's all for Israel, but if you can climb the ranks and get in on the special classified info then that would be pretty cool imo. Then you could also move into politics. It's all a social game so try to improve your social skills.
As far as money goes, just keep investing as much as possible into some index funds that yield 7-10% a year. Oh and go ALL IN on [Redacted].
saved that pic kek
yeah i will see if the military works out but im still in a dispute about the army idc...
>tfw always wanted to enroll in the army and become a paratrooper like my dad
>got denied entry because I have ADHD
feelsbadman
im afraid they will deny because i did some shit and got to the court
Fuck off yes you can but it's not likely.
My point is stop wasting your life on things like that, you get absolutely NOTHING out of games. Just wasted youth.
Inb4 cognitive studies
You can get the same effect from playing sports with the added benefit of making friends and improving your health.
I travelled the world in my twenties. I took a job that would allow me to live in different countires for months at a time.
Now I'm in my mid 30's and can't find a real career to save my fookin life. I just wish I'd have stayed at some wagecuck job and stacked money. If I don't get a real job soon it's all over for me.
dont let them talk you into infantry
i was in the military too (not in the us tho), and you can get way more out of it when you directly go to an engineering/trade path since you can use that skills in civil life too
if you consider staying there, try to go the direct route for a sergeant+rank or to become an officer
i would like to become an officier though, dont want to be a lowrank infantrist
I made friends and money from games. As well as gaining the experience of being truly elite at something. Doubtful I'll be the 0.01% in anything else. With that said focusing on other things is usually more worthwhile.
Just like Jow Forums makes you a lot of money and improves your health and helps you enjoy your youth? lol
you also have to consider that the path to becoming an officer is also very physically and psychically demanding, be prepared to have marches with 50-120km with around 20kg of weight
idk about the usa but we had some manoeuvers wher we stayed in the woods with no possibility to wash and limited sleep (no more than 4-6h per day), and i was only in to become a sergant in the militia
The dude who made Stardew Valley made the game while working part time at a movie theatre and is now a multi millionaire. Cope.
yeah im aware of that thx
I'm old. My advice, absolutely no girlfriend or boyfriend until you get accomplished and 100% free professionally and financially.
Learn to maintain your social connections, especially your family ties to the wider family if you have a good one.
This guy is also right:
Did 4 years in the muhrines as a grunt. Never again.
>can't go in military because ADHD
>meanwhile if I chopped my dick off and thought I was a woman trapped in a man's body, that's just fine
thanks for the advice goys
Well, I woukd join the army. Did it once and if you enlist for 2 years, then you can re-enlist for a nice fat bonus and new duty station. Take what you make from the army and set up a CD savings, giving it max time before maturity and putting a small fraction of your cash there. The rest, look into index funds like vangaurd that allow you to make steady money over the long term because you’re “buying the haystack” and the market always wins while individual securities lose over the long term consistent trading due to the trading fees. Play it smart, play it steady and sure, take risks now and then but only with excess money you save after putting it in safe places. If you DO find new opperunities, make sure to understand what fees/taxes/risks you’re working with and dont let greed make you spend more than you can stand to lose.
you would need video games to have a purpose in life; without dopamine, life is dull, video games would provide 1)the needed strength to reach your aims 2)culture 3)an interesting life
in short, without any strong enough engine to pull you through, and any reasons to have an aim, you'll end up miserable, after asking yourself "why"
Joining the army is not a bad idea especially if you go into comms or engineering. You don't have to spend any wages. Fat pension. Discipline. Walk into all kinds of good jobs afterwards. I recommend if you've ever thought about it. Strictly non combat though..get a skill.
Youre right. I went radar operator myself and i’m out now, getting a housing allowence for school and if I needed to, could land a job for 36 an hour. As a former american army fag, I can say it’s a great stepping stone. As long as you save and are smart with your shekels while you’re in. If you arent then you’ll be kinda fucked and find yourself re-enlisting without a choice.
RF is a great choice. I do sat comms and fibre now.
Lol I'd never join the army giving up your freedom is crazy talk, if I went back I'd do the same work hard save money and invest in myself, buy assets you can use to make money, shit jobs are shit so you work hard to get out of them, or quit and be a slave or meet, don't be a slave the rich use to secure their intrests
Nice. I wanted that too, but ended up radar when my only other options were mortician, cook and linen specialist. What jobs can your field land you?
you forgot to mention you destroy your body and only the top 10% or less will be making 120k after 3 years
true but this should be the last resort
if you went to uni for STEM finish it and get a STEM job, otherwise maybe military would help you if you can't figure out what to do
