The general consensus in January 2018 was that BTC would reach $50k+ by end of the year and nobody wanted to deal with taxes. The only reason I cashed out was because I had the opportunity to pay off my $90k in student loans. I literally felt like I was squandering my chance at becoming a millionaire when I did it.
