You're already doing the right thing.
The answer is: asking questions.

Unironically what top tier salesman do is ask questions to customers and manipulated them letting him believe that they really need what they're buying.

Anyone can get hired in sales because you get paid on commission. If you suck, they don't have to pay you.

You have to either know things and transition eg. moving from an engineering based role to selling the product, OR, find the most disgusting sales job ever and working your way up to something which isn’t disgusting/less disgusting.

I took the second option, now make like 12k a month mid 20’s

Is it good for confidence?I feel like talking to so many people would help me not be shy.

Be a college student. Those fuckers messaged me during the summer and had me in for a "job interview" with like 5 other people. 4 of them were also college kids and 1 was some 50 year old man. Surprise surprise the naive, kinda dumb college kids got hired and the clearly somewhat desperate old guy got turned away.
Then they started the 3 day indocrination of the college kids and me about how we could "be rich in a year" and gave us all kinds of merchandise.

Then they pulled away the 10 most skeptical of us or so, myyself included, and told us "ok so you guys are clearly smarter than the rest of them. Have you noticed? You guys are the born leaders. Don't tell them we're telling you this, but we're counting on you to keep the others in line."
I swear to god they said this.

So I went for 3 days out of boredom during my summer, got some free merchandise and food for a while, then left to go mountain hiking on the 3rd day, blocked all their numbers, and put all the fucking scammers' email addresses on a shitload of spam and gay porn subscriptions.

I mean real sales job

oh, lol. Just be young and full of energy, bubbly and scary happy.

>the clearly somewhat desperate old guy got turned away.
:(

If you’re good yes, and you’ll likely turn into an asshole especially if you’re young. If you suck and don’t have a good alternative it can lead to crippling self esteem issues

Yeah it was sad kind of. But at the same time it was a literal scam so it wouldn't have really benefited him. It was one of those things where we were told to sell to our families, etc.
I remember them saying in my interview, after only like 5 minutes of talking, "I can tell by the way you talk you're a cut above the rest." Then they said some shit like "making decisions quickly is an essential part of moving up in our company. We'll tell you who we've decided to hire in 10 minutes." and we just sat there after the interview until we were called into a little room 1 by 1 and told that we made it or didn't. I actually didn't realize it was a scam until I realized literally everyone got "hired" except the old guy.

Also, another time I had a job lined up but that job wouldn't start in a month I got an easier job in an unrelated field where they treated their employees like shit and nobody would know my name, but there was 2 weeks of training. So I got paid $1000 to watch 2 weeks of HR videos, basically and then quit.

>If you suck and don’t have a good alternative it can lead to crippling self esteem issues
I mostly want to to learn to talk to people i don't think i'll turn into an asshole.

That won't work though. Unless you want to go sell perfume in a mall or something.

I meant more cars or insurance.

If you can’t talk to girls I think it’ll be pointless from a $ perspective

Start by selling yourself

You mean like prostituting?

I just did 3 months of car sales to learn people skills and sales experience. Brutal at times, but you do learn how to talk to people. I had zero sales experience and literally just walked into 5 different dealerships and asked if they were hiring. Did 3 interviews, by the third one I figured out the interview part and got the job. You can make a lot of money, but it’s miserable a lot of the time. It shows on the salespeople’s face. It’s hard to describe the look but you’ll know what I’m talking about if you get the job.

>but it’s miserable a lot of the time
Whys that?

With words not your body.

In otherwords Internet phonesex with an anime girl voice changer.

>Then they pulled away the 10 most skeptical of us or so, myyself included, and told us "ok so you guys are clearly smarter than the rest of them. Have you noticed? You guys are the born leaders. Don't tell them we're telling you this, but we're counting on you to keep the others in line."
they clearly told every group this lmao you goober even after all this time

Because they work incredibly long hours
>Bell to Bell for most of them
>Bell to Bell = time doors open to time doors close for the day which at any big dealer means 7 am-9pm
>most have a 10-12 car quota a month to stay employed
>most young guys go in thinking they’re hot shit only to be eaten up by the clearly more experienced sharks in the tank
>have a shitty life for about 6-8 months
>make a lot of money hourly
>get kicked to the curb because you didn’t make your quota
>more successful sharks that make the money remain employed and the cycle repeats itself
>these “successful” salesmen, lead a life of smoke breaks every 15-30 minutes where they smoke 3-5 cigarettes
>go to McDonald’s or some other shitty fast food place for their likely 30 minute lunch
>go home to a shitty wife/family because they made bad choices while there making a lot of money
>rinse repeat

I was never a salesmen but I was a service advisor for a bigger Chevy dealership, and this describes the life of the salesman and service advisor both. Glad I’m away from that shithole.

>and put all the fucking scammers' email addresses on a shitload of spam and gay porn subscriptions.
