there aren't even many telegram chatrooms because 90% of people have no idea how to make a chat room. That's why there are so many broadcast only rooms. Telegram hasn't done a very good job of making their client user friendly. Everything is obscured. You have to add someone just to create a group. Pretty lame. It's sad because the app is really nice to use. It's just being developed by complete morons. At this point i had rather use kik.
