Asians have shown an interest in accumulating. LINK will get listed on their exchanges and wash traded up after a sizable float is bought from the 650M. This will also have the effect of making LINK non-viable for all of eternity due to the tokenomics of chink whales wash trading the supply away from regulatory authorities, but it ultimately won't matter and we'll see some eventual gains.

Too many people are brainlets when they think of the other 2/3 of the supply. They think Sergey, after taking every single precaution when creating the token, will unload his bags on the open market causing a huge dump.
If Sergey ever wanted to sell off his tokens for funding or to a private company, he would either sell the tokens straight from smartcontract.com or sell direct to a company. The total supply of the token would raise, but the market cap would raise as well. Someone would have to buy privately and then dump on the exchange to crash the price, which is unlikely.

Probalistically speaking chainlink will be fine at 1billi supply. You don’t know the future but you can make decent guesses based on other projects. Look at MKR this year. If a project delivers, it’ll be fine.
