I've been a gamer since 1991, worked in the industry for a short while. Modern games are the best when it comes to gameplay, but older games were a lot better when it came to music and artistic direction.

I thought i was only one that thought this. I would say they died end of 2006 going into 2007. After Xbox 360 was out for like a year, everyone started making half ass, watered down games so they could sell you extra content later.

People who are actually good at video games have an endless supply of shitters to run through to keep them happy, and shitters have an endless supply of cosmetics to keep them happy. BR games solved the whole “balancing for casuals v. balancing for hardcores” issue

I played GTA 5 and really enjoy this series. But the other thing i played since is OPENRCT2 for rollercoaster tycoon 1+2.

Halo 2 was the last great competitive arena style FPS with symmetrical maps where skill was awarded. Skill is no longer awarded. Playing more than someone is awarded because it's a better business model. I fucking hate clown world.
