Idiot look at the total supply 5-8 years out and what the market cap would be. If I can remember correct the market cap will have to be over 220 billion for
It to be above a dollar in 8 years from now. Also Mimblewimble doesn’t solve the Tx per second scaling issue. I wouldn’t pay more than 10 cents for it.
Dude, the inflation.
You are retarded and can't do elementary math. There will be 252 million grin eight years after inception.
It's a flat 1 grin/sec forever.
yeah yeah
i hear what you are saying
but at some point the miners will dump then daily emissions so the price is low enough
and then there will be a tipping point
between how many coins are in existence and how many coins are being created each day
and i think we hit that tipping point:
the GRIN market cap is 20 million right now...
two million GRIN are mined each month...
current price is $3.30 or whatever...
which means the market cap needs to expand by $6 million per month...
I DON'T THINK THAT IS VERY UNREASONABLE!
especially after my KCS pumped from 30 million market cap to 150 million in a matter of 30 days jesus fucking christ i think Grin can overcome its emmissions at this point it's a god damn steal.
also, one GRIN per second is simply not that much for the market to absorb.
Buying GRIN at these prices is a steal but there are probably hundreds of alts that you could buy now which would be a steal with a much lower inflation.
i hear you.
you know, it's hard to find alts that are any good.
everything is just derivative of ETH.
GRIN just strikes me as the coin that has something ~new~ that might actually take off.
also, one more thing:
look at the price curve of GRIN on coinmarketcap or wherever.
the early drop during the first couple weeks makes perfect sense.
but then it really flattens out. i mean, it REALLY flattens out.
think about that. no one person or single miner has enough GRIN to crater the price.
at this current point, it is relatively stable. especially compared to coins that have foundations or premines or whales who bought in during an ICO.
i mean, i don't disagree with you that the price may continue to drop due to emissions.
but the math you are all doing: the idea that we can extrapolate some insane future price based on the current price multiplied by emissions over a given period. . . there is something that you are doing that is undervaluing this coin at this current moment because at this current moment the price SHOULD be 10 cents but it's not 10 cents and I don't see it dropping quickly anytime soon. so i'm happy to put my money in. i think there is a better chance of it 3x than there is for it to drop to 30 cents.
I haven't really checked it out since a few weeks after launch, is it still a pain in the ass to use?
i just bought it on an exchange so i have no fucking idea.
but i was listening to something today that said that it is virtual cli, yes.
No, now Grin has addresses so it can function just like Bitcoin
meaning you can send grim to an offline address??
also, just for comparison, Ravencoin has a market cap of 200 million and no one has been able to explain how it is any different than XCP.
Well the transaction won't be finalized until both sender/receiver happen to be online at the same time but yes.
that is not great.
that means no paper wallets.
but i guess it was never meant to be like gold.
dude, i bought at 2.8... best decision ever, obvious pump
i get the inflation is high and all but you morons got to understand that if inflation is high, then there's a lot of miners that stopped mining btc and want something more profitable. guess what?
they will mine this fucker, then pump it, because it's obvious, then sell it
IT'S OBVIOUSSSS
then they will pump beam
screen cap this
based
Absolutely a great move. Grin will challenge BTC like no one else can. It is private by design and much better tech than others.
The windows wallet is just a couple of weeks away. There will be so much development on this coin. This is the 1000x moonshot, for sure.
It is difficult for now, means no one has got into it right now. It will be ironically very difficult to use it for a year.
My suggestion - buy more while it is cheap.
The high inflation will keep it unstable for a while but I guess in 2 years, we will see Grin as the leader of privacy coins just like BTC is the leader of crypto
yeah and buy yenten too
Samefag
i just stopped lurking last week. and already this post proves that i have made it. thank you anons for a wonderful ride.
also, one more thing: i am selling this diamond for 1 grin
0xBitcoin is better. Period. End of. Haters gon hate lava network.
Seriously, user. I don't have so much time. Anyways, I have not bought a shitload and do want to buy more, so I am okay. Also, will sell only if this thing goes to 120k sats.
Get rid of this crap user, Mimble wimble can be implemented on other coins like LTC. So why would anyone buy this useless shit?..
I am literally laughing at this. Not even willing to reply. This is beyond biz. biz should not buy Grin
everyone stop talking
because this fucking guy is here.
fuck off, user
you said you “have not bought a shit load”
so how much GRIN do you hold?
yeah. how much?
a little less than 1 BTC. Slow and steady buying over last week from 60K to 69K sats...
Ironically, just like the OP, I bought after selling KCS just after they announced the IEO. I made like 15% in 2-3 days there. I think Grin is a hold for the long term, but I will say it, I will sell it if it reaches 120 - 130K sats. If it goes down, I will keep accumulating
sure 130k sats but what marketcap??
Grin will eventually replace Monero. Lots of Bitcoin OGs accumulating. Windows wallet soon. We don't know what time it will get to 130K sats. If it gets to 130K sats in April, I will sell.
For May, the target is higher. However, because the inflation is extremely high, there will be lots of ups and downs. Right now, we are going up.
Marketcap keeps increasing. But think about Monero mcap and Grin mcap. Grin is being compared to Monero not some xyz coin.
bought 100k
>it will go up and down
>it might go up in May, it might go down in May
thanks user, good quality assessment.
Guys, Grin's inflation is not "extremely high". It's identical to Bitcoin for four years, and at year five, it'll be 33% more than Bitcoin. It's "high" when seen in the context of a decades long timespan, since mining rewards for other coins, intrinsically designed to attract early investors, dwindle down to practically nothing.
The inflation argument is fud.
yeah
and also it has the harry potter stuff
