Essentially, I work part-time and student loans to invest, while attending university for free. I will then become a PhD student, make ~$30k tax-free stipend and take out $20k/yr in student loans over the course of 5-7 years. I will then exitscam the USA.

Depends on what you need for a 'good living', user. Even a mediocre engineer can start at a solid 40k.

I think the biggest factor to get great pay and the ability to work remotely are soft skills - like communication and time management - that give the folks who employ/contract you the confidence they need to let you work wherever/whenever you want.

Some days I work less than 2 hours and surf/rock climb all day, but other days I'm heads down for over 10 hours to meet a deadline. End of the day, all anyone cares about is "can user deliver"?
