Here's a long trail which connects LINK with Samsung - Samsung used to have a project called Artik, which they shut down in December 2018. The team behind Artik was distributed within Samsung wherever they can help. 'Slock it' was integrated with Artik and they're also partnered with Polkadot, which we know will use Chainlink. It's a bit long winded but there must have been engineers at Artik which were familiar with Chainlink and they were put into other Samsung teams.
