I’m nearly done with the year and I started out saving 20% of my checks but now I”m putting 50% into savings. Had two questions:

1. Is that enough into savings?
2. What can I expect to owe during tax season? This year I got a big ol’ Fuck You tax return because of minimum wage before the 90k.t

Taxes are for cucks.

where do first year teachers make 90000 dollar

Same place Head Chefs at Wendy’s make $200k, which is to say on the internet

>is that enough
Do you have an idea of what you're saving for?

He's selling drugs to his students on the side.

The answer is that I’m not a normal teacher

Mainly house down payment. Still renting and living with Mom on the weekend. Helps save a lot of money.

What subject do you teach?

Bullshitiology

I’ll say its extracurricular.

Teaching english in china whilst taking bribes from uni students = ez money

Probably sex shit

Can I please have the financial advice? I thought this was the board for that

kek

Nigger what the fuck are you teaching its literally the only interesting thing about this thread lmao

I’m a teacher posting on Jow Forums. It would be stupid to say what I teach.
Think about extracurricular that could potentially pay a lot of money.

I'll give you all the advice you want
shit I have access to a proprietary retirement calculator but tell us what the fuck you teach you can't just make such a crazy claim then back off and expect help

Ridiculous paranoia

Sorry dude I’m not outright stating it. But it’s something that involves a lot of outside practice, organization, planning, etc. in addition to the teaching.

handegg coach

then go fuck yourself to Jow Forums
who the fuck is paranoid on an anonymous website
larp confirmed

kys

also if you are a coach, please prepare your "regular" students for the future. every coach teacher was shit at teaching but its a big responsibility

Won’t say what I am but it’s close to that yeah.
Please give advice, Jow Forums will probably just ignore my non-relationship thread.

>1. Is that enough into savings?
whats your goal?
>2. What can I expect to owe during tax season?
13000 if youre a handholdless incel

>13k
Well good thing I’ve been saving lmao. But Jesus Christ.
I’ve been told that by spending money on my program I can drive down that number though.

Forgot to mention, I’m also in Florida (no state income tax). Does that make things better?

>Does that make things better?
nope thats assuming no state income tax. but also if youre paid by the school and you get paystubs, they already give the money for taxes to the IRS with each paycheck. youre getting the leftovers, and at the end of the year, you apply to get some of your money back from the IRS. the joys of being a wagie

See that’s confusing. Why do they take the taxes out of my check, and then say “wait but that’s not enough taxes” later?
My paycheck’s already cut by 1/3rd in taxes.

hmm, are you filing tax returns? i dont think its a requirement at minimum wage pay levels, but youd get penalized heavily for not filing a return now.

Well yeah. This was my first tax return with the new job but I started in July so the first 6 months were minimum wage and student loans.
I got 3k back. IDK if that will apply next year though.

They don't. Each week they do a calculation based on what they think you'll earn for the year. If you're getting the same paycheck every week then every week you get taxed the same amount. Then when it comes tax time you get to tell the government about your tax deductions, and get money back from that because they over estimated the amount of tax you actually had to pay.

youll get back more this year, and some of the money spent on student loans is also tax deductible

Oh OK! So should I expect returns every time, then?

Fantastic! Sallie Mae counts? I’ve been working on the private SM loans first since they have higher interest.

is OP the band/orchestra teacher?

If you have not declared any exemptions, you should get a tax refund every year. The automatic withholding without exemptions is high enough that unless you have a lot of capital gains or earned interest, you should expect a few thousand dollars from the IRS.

You are so full of shit it's hilarious. My mother was a teacher in Florida making 34k a year and then became the principal making 82k. Unless you are a coach at a university, there is no way in fucking hell you are pulling anything close to 90k.
