What's the point of lightning when there is bitcoin?
Is core fucked?

What's the point of lightning when there is bitcoin?
Is core fucked?
how fast is it to transfer?
infinite blocksize is a bad thing you retard
It is fucked if it turns out that the majority of population likes to have free access to immutable Child Abuse images.
Why is ABC outperforming this shit then if its so good?
yeah cause its a shitcoin with a bitcoin name on it lmao
explain?
Because you need to be able to store it somewhere.
This is a shit money grab , Bitcoin isn’t. That’s the point.
>implying we won't be able to store exabytes in a cubic centimeter of holographic quantum crystals soon
instant
>what is moore’s law
Because it's the middle ground between BTC and BSV.
bitcoin blockstream is the shitty money grab coin, this isn’t
Why not just stor it on a hd ssd? I mean, isn't that the normal thing to do?
First of all, Moore's law is for transistor count. Second of all, it is no longer true (it was never really a law, more of a rough rule of thumb).
How do you store something that is tending to infinity in size.
it’s not dead yet, try again
Moore's law is not a real law. It will not hold forever.
>How do you store something that is tending to infinity in size.
If people are willing to pay the required fees, I'm sure the miners wont bother building industrial scaled mining operations with the needed storage space. Why would they not want to make money? I thought the competition amongst miners for profit was the heart of how bitcoin works. I realise I might be wrong so please educate me
I don't understand what you're trying to say.
The bigger the blocksize, the more centralised the coin.
You understand nothing, shitcoiner.
>I don't understand what you're trying to say
That's strange, but I'll give you a tl;dr eli5.
Users pay fees for miners to store their data.
That doesn't solve the problems of a blockchain tending to infinity in size though. Physics says no.
You don't seem to understand how supply and demand work.
like the user above says, it's all about supply and demand. If you're not familiar with that consept, you're wasting everyones time
Supply and demand is not even relevant here. There are physical limitations due to physics that makes this insane/impossible in the extreme limit. It requires energy to store any information. Having the size of the blockchain tending to infinity is a very bad idea.
And who are you? Oh thats right nobody with a relevant opinion lmao
That's like saying supply and demand doesn't apply in the housing market due to physics. Can you imagine everyone living in a 10000 sqf mansion? That's obviously impossible so that means supply and demand isn't relevant.
It's just such a weird argument
miners and nodes are two different things
combining them alters the governance of the network and effectively silences the user
by limiting who can verify the network it becomes easier and easier to collude selfishly
and it's not like the users have to option to fork away with high hardware and bandwidth requirements, the network dies
No, you fucking faggot.
Storage isn't the main problem. The main problem is upload/download speeds. Nodes have to be able to upload and download blocks within a short window and if they can't, they fall behind in the chain.
Upload and download speeds are not something individual operators have complete control over. Geographical location largely determines this and ISP's could throttle you purposefully especially with the way things are headed.
This is literally an anonymous board. Who are you? Why is your 'opinion' more relevant?
You are clearly missing my point if you think this analogy is even close to accurate.
>If people are willing to pay the required fees, I'm sure the miners wont bother building industrial scaled mining operations with the needed storage space.
wasn't bitcoin point to be decentralized and not Google type of database? I want to have full node myself but it will be impossible for average guy
cashies are the top tier brainlets
they want it fast, they want it now, they want it for free/cheap, and are too dense to ever understand how it works
they're not developers they'll never be node operators
they're just stupid and their argument dies the moment someone understands this stuff

how is that good? reliability out the window

>implying we won't be able to store exabytes in a cubic centimeter of holographic quantum crystals soon
Quoted for truth. Crystals will be the next generation and replace transistors alltogether.
>b-b-but technology won't evolve too much, no paradigm shifts, no breakthroughs, metamaterials are a meme, hurr durr
said every brainlet ever over the course of humanity's existance, until proven wrong, life is a kind of metamaterial in itself
>they don't know
