Yes they do, but learn how to check valuation. You flip the fraction (2% is 2/100, which becomes 100/2) and multiply by the capital you invested. A start up farm is not worth 5mil. You should've gotten way more equity, matching what the farm and his knowledge is actually worth, I don't know what that would be but I really fucking doubt it's 5mil. I'm sure you will make money in time, but your friend bent you over and fucked you whether he intended or not.
