BTC development seems stifled as well. Andreas Antonoplous always talks about this blockchain ossification happening on layer 1. Layer 2 is looking like only way forward for BTC.
Meenwhile BCH has schnorr signatures just around the corner, as well as tons of other upgrades planned, without needed layer 2.
