How 'obvious' was it that coins like XRB, VET, NEO etc would be the ones to make it in the top 20? Everyone is constantly shilling their own favorite projects, and everyone says they'll be a top 20 project.
But did the majority of boards ever agree on one? LINK and FTM for example- I see the majority of responses/posts are in accordance with the potential each project has.Did Jow Forums or plebbit ever settle like that about the 2017 top 20 when the projects were under $20M market caps? Or did it not happen until a much higher market cap, like $200M?
Pretty sure I'll be going with FTM as my heaviest long term (i.e til bull market) hold, just trying to gauge how accurate these boards have been/can be
It was not obvious at all. NEO was a shady antshares chink project with zero pr and chinglish on their website that looked like it was built in mid 2000s.
vet looked like it was trying to ride the latest supply chain management hype and had a fucking bottle of wine on its website.

The truth is it was much easier then, people hadnt reslised this whole market was a scam, and each coin only had one of its type.I.e there was only one big chinese blockchain (neo), one rfid coin (wtc). Now we all kniw this market is a huge scam, and there are 10+ useless coins fighting for each niche, it really comes down to knowing the right people and which coins they will pump. Its pure gambling now.

All of them were shilled, together with 500 others that didn't moon.
Jayden Sanchez
Organic hype is is what drives it. In part started and sustained by influencers but majority genuine investor excitement.
Fantom is an example of fake hype majority sustained by shills. Recently, Ravencoin has/had organic bagholder hype.
Samuel Jackson
It was all about partnerships and cool hype projects. Litterly everything pumped so as long as you were perma bull you made lots of paper profits
Jayden Rogers
There were Antshares threads back then, but you usually had a ton of people calling it a Chinese shitcoin. It was a drip in an ocean of other alts being shilled - ARK, DGB, PoSW, RDD, XBY, BAY, PIVX to name a few. A lot of these did remarkably well by the peak of the bullrun, but most of Jow Forums had forgotten them completely by then. Buy high, sell low as always. I honestly do not remember the XRB threads Long story short, 1 shill may be right out of 100 and you won't know for sure until the charts back him up. Everyone will call it a scam until its not.
Fuck, a lot of Jow Forums was still calling ETH a pump and dump scam when it went above $40 for the first time.

lmao fuqq, this is not the response I was hoping for
Grayson Johnson
Yep, that's what I feared. That's fine though, just gotta bet on the right horse.
I'm slowly making my way to the portfolio target I've had to move on to hodling long terms, so I feel like it's time for me to start getting an idea of which 3 I'll choose.
Jayden Wood
everything mooned during 2017, thats what made it a fucking bullrun. Literally the shittiest of coins mooned the hardest, which was kinda annoying
Tyler Turner
Be wary of surviorship bias. I have seen literally countless shitcoins being shilled on here and reddit but they die and fade into obscurity and nobody brings them up again. There was no consensus on these coins they gained traction after they pumped, very few people got in before the pumps. 99% of the shit I’ve seen here has died and faded into obscurity, do not trust the popular sentiment of idiots.
Jason Gutierrez
That's a good point, and I agree. I spent the last month playing around with idex season, and I think NEXT and VIDT are the only two mentioned that are actually still relevant
You're right, though. I was too much of a noob back in dec 2017 that I never dug deep enough to find boards like biz to find new coins earlier, so I was just asking this in case it was different than it is today.
apparently it is not
Cameron Thomas
it didnt fucking matter op..everything went 100x.
EVERYTHING MOONED
Jackson Reyes
this user makes a good point one of the most important things you must do in this space is own your own head there are many cryptos out there with a lot of potential if something is being shilled, just why exactly is it being shilled in the first place, especially if it is frequently shilled? who does it benefit?
for all the coins being shilled, what are the quality of the posts concerning the actual product or service? do they make serious points? whether they do or do not, where is its price at? Jow Forums frequently shills coins that already pumped and frequently mocks things before they take off

Do not use any form of social media or message boards for investing advice. It is easily gamed. All you should be doing with content here is using it as a jumping off point for hours of personal dilligence. If you take investment advice from social media you are going to lose due to multiple factors in addtion to the fact it’s likely someone trying to seperate you from your money or some other gullible idiot whose fallen into the trap.

I'm betting on certain qTrade projects as dark horses. Bullish on SNOW, VEO, BIS, and NYZO (though I have some concerns with that one). I've seen a lot of bullshit on this site and I've been here for over two years. I recommend focusing your research on what the autists are following.
Luis Edwards
Not very obvious. You pretty much had to gamble and pick a coin to either hold or try to make a quick swing trade on.
Thomas Taylor
not with chainlink
Aiden Diaz
It wasn't obvious at all since neo was called ANTSHARES, a literal meme name and looked like a total chink hustle just like vechain. I missed both but held enigma all the up and all the way down because of inexperience Fml Link is a meme and always was
Adam Morgan
back in the day you vould invest in anything and everything mooned eoy 2017...
some had diversified folios and everything mooned ...
David Walker
Last year's RVN pump to 950 sats in oct/nov was pure whale dick-swinging. The guy was a miner and wanted to draw attention to the project, but underestimated how much fomobuying there would be. It turned out to be a complete mess.
The most recent pump seems much more legit.
Jack Perez
>PoSW kek I remember this piece of shit and how some user went all in in this and lost his money
Samuel Brown
>was
Kayden Green
That alt run was absurd. Every shitcoin in existence pumped HEAVILY. It was impossible to lose on that run. The only pajeet-tier coins people got burned on we're actual PnD groups on this main page not "discord pump groups."
We would collectively pump 1 sat coins like mooncoin and shit and a few people got burned, and we all new they were fake garbage.
I could like 50-100 coins that saw x5-x10s that were shilled here daily.
Easton Wilson
All you need is a coin that isn't heavily premined and is new enough to not have massive bagholders from previous cycles. Also, pick the coin with the most shills, as that's the only criteria that matters (there are no fundamentals in shitcoins). So you pretty much need pajeets shilling a coin that isn't heavily premined. Good luck with that.

XRB was obvious. I came at just the right time, started at $0 (free airdrop via faucet), and was hyped as fast fee less transactions when BTC was taking half a day and $100 to send funds. The fud around here was just about how hard it was to get on some obscure exchange at the time when it came out. VEN was pretty obvious to me too once Reddit fell in love with that coin. I missed the early run up on VEN, but it was held down for a long time on Binance. >muh whales are accumulating
