who the heck am SEC edition???

Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

Where are my /LPTX/ boys? I upped my position to 500 shares today.

Attached: YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.jpg (236x214, 9K)

I sold 500 shares. Bored.

I'm sitting on 250, trying to figure out when the party starts and hoping something else I'm waiting on pops before this one does so I can more.

Yeah so if they beat it it will head back to the 110 range perhaps?
Idk I've lost so much money this week I'm desperate for a 5x on some options.

Is it wrong to invest in shit like tranny surgeries if it will make you rich?

mandatory SJM shill for jelly thread

I dont know what jpm is going to do, ive followed banks for a few years now and its always been 50/50 for the group JPM C BAC WFC. But theres definitely a lot of people shorting the banks from the yield inversion so it could be a full sweep this time. I give probability to the upside

Why dont you look at the Fear Index one.

HMMM
Time to become a smug bull again (especially if the market starts going down, so that I can continually smugpost all the way to the bottom and back up)

Attached: hmm.png (379x15, 7K)

Is now a good time to buy spy? And if so what's a good initial buy in?

No. After it breaks 290 is when you buy short, 293 long. Otherwise we’re gonna bounce between support and resistance for awhile

Best time to average in is right after a market correction like the one last last year. Whenever the daily RSI is oversold, start slowly buying in. This is assuming you're going long hodl and don't plan to sell for some years, and understand that you portfolio will be in the red for a while as things sort themselves out.

Right now isn't good. Upside in exchange for your risk is questionable.

You know His name. 0.51 x 4 is not to shabby not at these prices anyway. Buy Him now and worry not for 15 - 20 years he will be taking care of you while you slave away at that job you hate.

Go to work and bear it; keep smiling on the inside friends cause you know you gotta exit plan in the works. Retire from that shit job and then kick back and relax. Let His fat payout keep you nice and warm during the cold winter months. You won't have to bother with working ever again; you can just occupy yourself with the chump next door neighbor's 18 year old daughter. Her parents will be suckers; they'll think she's got a job. Hey it won't be a lie; she does get paid after all for taking care of you in the bedroom. College is expensive as fuck after all.

Fellas I am super heavy in BABA. Made a shitload this year thus far in it. Any suggestions on when to get out or should I hold through any correction?

Is it even possible to profitably retail trade on vol with DTE < 30? I want to collect as much premium as possible while limiting my downside to just extreme vol situations but I feel like this only going to work if I starting capital

It just absolutely refuses to break 2899. This is the most persistent pattern I’ve seen in these markets for months.

Well fellas? Do I spin the chamber?

Attached: 49EC35DF-6ABB-4543-BC37-F1BE8FEB75F0.jpg (696x155, 64K)

if I have significant starting capital*
I wanna run some active trades with a couple hundred dollars leveraged since I'm dirt poor, anybody got experience with vol trading or are yall just YOLOing it?

why are people still buying SPY instead of VTI

lol

Damn son. What percentage of your portfolio?

What actually happens if you write calls and they moon 100000%? Does your broker show up and break your legs?

Oh it's 100%. I have a sound pension waiting for me if I end up blowing my life savings so I figure why not take a shot at being able to retire a few decades early.

you get paid and then the SEC rapes you for insider trading

if they're covered calls, then they just get exercised and you get your shares bought at whatever price the calls were at (your main risk is a loss of upside)

if you're writing (selling) options, then the best thing for you is if those options expire worthless (you keep your premium and pay no other costs)

oh I was assuming you just get paid the price minus strike, yeah you're right I'm sure you just get the asset at the strike price. IDK if brokers just automatically sell when you exercise

OH HOW I WANT TO BREAK FREEEEEE

Guys why hasn't the market crashed yet? And why are people not pulling money out and waiting for the next crash?

Is it greed keeping people in? Would it be wise for me to cash out and just wait?

Attached: whydidntyougetaroundthetable.jpg (2197x1464, 644K)

Honestly I think lyft will hit 35 by next week. It sounds good as a headline

markets have historically peaked several months after yield curve inversion, and the most recent inversion may not even be legit since banks are now price-blind buyers of sovereign bonds due to 08 Fed changes.
So market theoretically has a lot more gas if the warning light was a real warning light, and it may not even be a good warning light.
idk I'm just a scrub, this is what I've heard from other sources

Attached: 1543649335385.jpg (1280x720, 79K)

Right now I have only 50% of my money in the market. I am very much in Chinese stocks and I was planning to just pull out after the deal comes through and wait for an election crash but I don't know what to do.

It's all so tiresome.

Good evening, Mr. Leap Esq. III

Is there a single candidate in the upcoming election that is good for wall street?

>chinese stocks
word from the ultra rich chinese kids I know is that chinese equity is a shitshow. How has that worked out for you? I go to a large midwest school that all the mega-wealthy Uncle Xi kids get shipped out to, so I've not even looked at chink stocks since I heard that warning last quarter

Biden wouldn't be bad, imo

why are people still buying VTI instead of DGRO

lol

XLM will moon on Monday

Don't say I didn't warn you

made a killing on BABA. So much so its concerning me.

Bernie winning would crash the market, causing his socialist goons to think it's retaliatory from the banker class and not just the normal expectation when someone who hates financial institutions takes power. This is gonna cause them to push for a more sweeping anti-financial agenda, and they might unironically lock up bankers, crashing the market further. It's going to be inverse Trump.

If he or Warren (less worried about Warren I don't think she's as autistic as she's trying to sound this early) wins the nomination, I fully intend to buy as many deep OTM puts as I can get my hands on, expiring April 2022

Are you just long? Jesus when did you buy

I’ve got 10 shares with Schwab right now ($5 transaction fees). Does it make sense to try to trade this catalyst? The event is after session tomorrow. Do I get out near the end of the session and then get back in after a couple of days?

I’m generally a position trader, and I think Disney will be worth holding on to in the long run with DRIP. So i don’t really know what to do here.
.
.
.
(for at least a year, at which point I’ll reevaluate if we still have recession concerns, and may liquidate 50-75% of my holdings. Generally I want high quality companies with DRIPping dividends like Disney and Apple, who will almost certainly come back even after recess, because consumers consume and shepherds lead sheep, etc.)

FAANG will tank if Warren gets the nomination.

yeah just long

in December

Buy APHA puts, they've got earning coming up. I've never seen dudeweed run on earnings because they're reality checks.
I'd jump out here and buy back in like 3-5 days.

Neither Bernie nor any other socialist will ever be president if they win. A patriotic American will provide a second amendment solution to that problem, if it ever happened.

she literally can't break them up, there's a 0 (zero) percent chance she even gets close to pulling it off

How do I get really rich really fast?

jeez louise where's you memeifesto man?

There's a 100% chance they tank anyways.

No I am not advanced enough for that sort of stuff sadly.

it'll be priced in by Iowa m9

Buy 5000 dollars in LYFT puts 4 days ago

I want deval patrick as pres

Who here has experience with penny stocks? My current strategy is to buy just about anything with a 5-10% dip then set it to autosell if it gains 20% from my initial investment. Other than that I eyeball it throughout the day and sell stubborn stocks as long as they're green. Just bought a bunch of stuff on that dipped today so my portfolio looks bad.

I just got started trading the beginning of this month, made some good trades mostly by just being lucky and naturally have stalled.
There's so many obscure stocks that some of you guys have mentioned in this general that its mind boggling to me that you could even have the foresight to find this companies and correctly determine that they will go up 10-30%.

How do you guys sift through all the tickers to find these? Should I start running big spreadsheets tracking 500+ stocks for earnings reports/press releases/swing trends etc?
