Brave could develop the "BAT to pass paywall" in 1 minute, Brendan Eich has already commented on this and it sounds like they're ready to implement it. The problem here is negotiating with WaPo and waiting for them to be ready to integrate this "BAT for paywall" type deal. Lots of moving parts.
Anyways BAT is a legitimate project with an awesome team behind it that includes programmers, researchers, scientists and web developers. Eich literally created Javascript and started Mozilla.
No scam here obviously, but Jow Forums is brainlets so there's no point in arguing.
