Why don’t you grow vegetables, herbs and mushrooms in your home?
You get to: >save money >avoid pesticides in veggies from supermarket >get a new hobby >get a natural air-cleaner for your home >enjoy the taste of your own work
There is literally no downside to this and you can live frugally while helping the environment.
i grow my own, buy i never tried with artificial lights. Dont seem like cost effective at all

Because you would need the space and room bright enough for this.
Knowing Jow Forums we live in basements or 1 room apartements. If you have the above you are well off enough money wise to not bother and invest your time in more productive shit.
You can grow only small things... forget tomatoes cucumbers pepers and such as they have deep roots not suitable for a flower pot.
It takes a lot of time for the plant to mature and grow.
If you want to grow spices its fine... full on vegtable garden... not so much.
I grow weed in a 3x3 tent in my room. Its fucking addicting trying to grow the dankest shit. I don't even smoke it I sell it lmao but its fun experimenting with different phenos

I've actually been working on doing this. The next step is actually farming in my backyard.

What's your start-up costs? Monthly costs? Time per month? Net profit per month?

What about shrimps?

In general I like this concept but that image shows a bunch of tiny plants you'd pick the basil once for one meal it'd be all gone and then you'd have to wait weeks for it to grow more. Not practical.
Jaxson Myers
my herbs plus i got some pepper from all range from jalapeno to California reaper
well not realy because this room is exposed to the sun all day

led lights are low wattage but the initial cost is a bit expensive. you can get cfl lights that will work for simple herbs and lettuce but something more powerful would be ideal for fruit bearing plants.

Imagine the smell

Why don't you make your own toilet paper, save money?

or >Grow weed >grow shrooms profit??
Luke Anderson
why would I grow cheap vegetable when I can grow expensive cannabis
Jaxon Stewart
What about that hot dog tree you planted?

I really don't understand people who do this. You raise the price of video cards for legit people who need them, you make almost no return or lose money on electric (even with a solar setup due to wear and tear) and you don't even make as much money as compared to investing.
Retards making life suck for everyone.

Expect for nvidia and amd

>legit people who need them Wouldn't mining and contributing that the crypto ecosystem be more "legit" than gaming? As far as growing plants indoors.. what are going to get, one meal a month out of it? What a waste of time. Make it, get some land and setup a large scale garden.
Colton Lee
My cat would eat them. He eats any plants we have in the house, then throws them up, so we can't have any.
Ian Lopez
that shelf equals about 1 days worth of food...
Eli Peterson
>grow plants >get 1 free lunch a month wow
David Kelly
>>get 1 free lunch a month >wow
Well at least this disproves the old "theres no such thing as a free lunch".
Jayden Miller
$500 for the whole setup (600w led grow light, inline fan, carbon filter, organic nutes, oscillating fan, pots, soil) and like $50 more in electric costs

because the guberment will fine me out the ass

Why spend $1/kg on carrots from the supermarket when you can spend $50 on seeds, fertilizer and equipment to get 100kg of carrots which all have to be eaten at the same time?
