Here's a semi-professional set up from a guy that breeds a few different things, you'll note it's just a greenhouse and tubs.
To answer the anons that were asking questions in the other thread, seems the current industry standard for dehydration is live microwaving.
And I live in Australia. Bought $20 worth of larvae, a $15 tub and used some junk I had lying around then sold $450 of larvae two months later with a total of 1 hour's work put in and some ads on gumtree (local classifieds).
Currently resurrecting the operation and would love to document the progress in these threads.
Forgot the link to the breeder.

Any links to the approval of Black Soldier Fly Larvae for chicken feed?
Also, any tips on cycles for selling? Like, how long do I have before larvae become adult flies?
question, what kind of pollution does an arbitrary setup produce? how is the smell (any worse than regular compost with the lid on) and what do you do with all the juice?
>maggot farming
so just facebook but less techy stuff ?
suburban side hustles are the saddest thing i've ever seen. white bois in their shorts and sneakers!!!

There's a few more links I found but that should get you going.
Well, I've been composting for a long time, and I've never actually had a compost pile smell before. That being said, I've been to some people's houses that have pretty smelly compost bins, and it would probably smell about that bad. The smell can be mitigated by draining the juice and providing non-digestable bedding in the feed box apparently, like finer coco coir.
The juice can go down the drain or in the compost. On a larger scale, I'd guess use as a soil amendment or just evaporating it. Some add the juice to a secondary worm farm, I wouldn't want to add too much at once as the enzymes could ruin your worm farm.
There's not much solid waste left at the end of the day. The solid waste can go into the worm farm, or can be used as is as compost.
Thank you based maggot farm user, will be using this information to profit
Nah I ain’t gonna work on maggot farm no more!
sick reference, grandpa
Steal wood to feed the maggots? They don't digest cellulose heavy things so well, woody branches included. It could be hot composted in about three weeks, then fed to them but compost is better fed to worms.
If you go to your local markets, there's hundreds of kilos (Even tonnes) of waste at the end of the day. The better the food, the less you have to feed the maggots and the less waste there will be.
A pleasure, just remember the maggots aren't going to sell themselves. The most bang for buck is selling them in small tubs for people looking to do their own breeder for backyard chickens, so once you've serviced that demand in your area (or further) then it comes down to volume and deals with larger and larger buyers.
The bulk, commercial price for the maggots seems to be about $1-2 per kilo. But that is talking tens to hundreds of tonnes of them per day.
In the last thread I went through a few of the places you could sell them, as long as you're turning a profit and it's worth your time then strike a deal. The more volume at profit, the better.
Rage Against the Machine 2000 I wasnt even in highschool yet faggot.

Bob who? Time to take your meds gramps.
NE USA checking in, is this something I can do small scale ? Do I need a large commercial space? I live in an area really lose to a lot of farmlands.

Yep, definitely. You can start out with anything up from a 20 litre tub. How much space do you have?

This is a self harvesting setup, made for on farm use.
You could use one of these and just ship the pupating larvae honestly. Simplifies things a lot.
Poor fag who lives at home. Could try to talk my parents into letting me do it on our property but we live in a development. I have many friends in the area who own land, some in wooded areas, that might be receptive to the idea. How much space is ideal? There is available ware housing as well but I don't know what the rent looks like.
