Forgot debt, roughly $8.5k outstanding on a personal loan. Yes I put it in crypto. Probably taking out another loan soon.

fuck off with your shitty larp / brag threads. kys

I made almost all of my money when I got into BTC after the April crash in 2013, and through mostly lucky trades and holding, I got to where I am now (my last 2 big trades were when BTC hit 19k on the upswing and when it was crashing at 16,000, I was planning on getting out around that point anyways).
The actual wealth itself hasn't made me much happier than before, right now only one person actually knows about it. The only other person that knew was my grandfather, who got me into investing when I was really young (9 or so) and gave me my initial investment money, but he died in late January. My step-dad has an idea I think, as I talked about crypto/investing early on with him, but I don't think he has any idea of how much I actually made.
The only tangible benefit the money has given is the ability to afford expensive stuff on my own that I would otherwise need to depend on my family (step-dad) for, but I spend so infrequently it's pretty inconsequential (a year abroad, being able to go to an out-of-state/country university, etc.) and my family is pretty rich anyways.
If anything, it's made me realize how much of a negative impact having/losing money can have. I know 2 people that have killed themselves over BTC crashes, or maybe just dropped off the internet completely. Several people that sold at the peak (or made a profit at all) have turned into such toxic people, constantly shoving it in people's faces and gloating about how much money they've made, how stupid other people were for selling/buying at the wrong time, etc.
Idk, I lucked into the money, and mostly live as though I don't have it.
