I think no one seriously cared about or even noticed Craig during the whole 2017 and most of 2018 when he suddenly started bringing a lot of attention by bashing every single project (despite that he "came out" as Satoshi, I believe, in 2014). However, it's true that people are hating on him way too much. But neither do you have to be stupid enough to threat to sue them, in such situations all you need is to wait out.
