I'm sick of all these crypto threads (although I've been an investor in BTC since 2011) it's clogging the board.
I'm an affiliate marketer using paid traffic. I've made a few threads here and have been looking for other affiliate marketers here to chat with.
I've got 1 semester of university left after which I plan to travel around Europe and south east asia for a year or so while making money online and living it up. My parents are heavily against that idea as they truly don't believe it's possible to make a good living online and think the only path to success is to use my degree to get a good job in my field (computer science).
Anyway, pic related is my April earnings so far. Good month so far, hoping for more like it throughout the year.
I promote various offers from affiliate networks through avenues such as mobile popup ads, push notification ads, banner ads and native ads. The aim is to spend less on traffic than you earn from offer conversions. I use my skills to successfully create landing pages for each offer, analyse large data sets to work out which placements I should blacklist to make a campaign profitable and good copywriting skills to entice visitors to complete said offers.

almost everyone is secretly shaving their affiliates what do
Christopher Smith
This is true for a lot of networks. Thankfully I have created good relationships with my affiliate managers and have built trust between us. There is really nothing you can do about shaving but I'm happy with my performance so I can't complain.
Tyler Collins
Stopped reading after “I got one semester of university left” fuck off euro kike you don’t know shit
Kevin James
what does this mean
William Morris
lmao aight. I'm aussie btw but yeah cool no doubt no doubt.

hey fren, i am they guy who said he had experience with seo affiliate stuff and wanted to start cpa because of you.. really impressive numbers. also finishing uni rn.
do you have a throw-away email where i can keep in touch with you in case you leave /biz? would be really nice to have a mastermind or something. won't spam you all day with noob questions i have researched cpa stuff extensively the last week and got accepted with a few big networks already (maxbounty, peerfly, crakrev).
my budget is like €5-10k + like €500 / month in affiliate income

- do you copy/spy LPs or do you build stuff from scratch and split-test it? - how do you optimize your placements? is it just having a tracker and killing all traffic sources that are garbage based on geo, device, browser, wifi/carrier? is that it? or are you doing real statistical analysis or big data analysis with your data? thanks!
Justin Kelly
>the only path to success is to use my degree to get a good job in my field (computer science).
You'll have an outdated degree by 3 years from now
Justin Martinez
This is interesting. How to begin here?
Benjamin Morales
hey bro, you can email [email protected] if you want. Good stuff, definitely give it a go.
I spy LPs through adplexity and I also create my own from scratch. I made a really nice LP a few weeks ago and now it's being stolen by fucking everyone. That's just the way it goes I guess, I've stolen lots of LPs in the past so whatever lmaoo.
Exactly, that's how I optimize placements. Also I split test multiple offers and LPs for each campaign. Also placements can be websites/ad locations/etc on the advertising source. You'll find a lot of placements are 100% bots so you gotta get rid of them asap.
Jack Gomez
OP probably uses proxy / bot detection from like getipintel.net and gets great conversions
Honesty, that the key because the internet is flooded with fake traffic and clickers
Nathan Campbell
OP here. Thanks for the link, never seen that before. I can generally tell if a placement is bot traffic based on the CTR and IP range just from looking at it. Over time it becomes more and more obvious. Some of the trackers like voluum have an inbuilt fraud checker which gives a % likelihood of bot traffic from each placement. I want to transfer from bemob to voluum but I already have thousands of offers, LPs and campaigns on my current tracker that it'll be an absolute bitch to transfer over.

Is it possible to run this as a side gig? How would someone go about it?
Nathan Parker
Yeah mate, I'm fulltime at uni and probably spend ~2 hours a day on affiliate marketing - a lot of the time I spend less. It's not super intensive unless you're just getting started and aren't familiar with the process yet.
Jonathan Wood
Is the John crestani super affiliate course worth it for someone with no marketing experience in your opinion?
Adrian Foster
I've dealt with a lot of not just not but VPN / proxy traffic as the same person would sign up multiple offers or some shit like that. That small gem site saved my ass a few times.
Lucas Brooks
bot, not but

I run nutra offers on native (MGID & Revcontent). Not at your numbers, but doing pretty good for myself.
Justin Peterson
yeah that's what i figured, everyone stealing LPs from everyone else kek. but if you can afford the ad spend it's definitely worth a shot to create your own stuff.
I am still undecided which tracker to use, but will definitely look into bot detection. Was about to say Voluum added bot detection but seems you know already!
Thanks a lot for the e-mail! I'll definitely contact you soon!

Imo any courses are scammy and packed with info you could find for free. However crestiani is a pretty trusted name in AM so it could be worthwhile. I couldn't tell you for sure though because I've never bought any courses.
Ok no worries! Sounds good, I've actually been wanting to get into native myself. I've just been doing pops, push and some display. I'll reply with my main Hotmail account because onewaymail is just a disposable address for receiving emails.

Teach me how to begin from scratch, pls
Jason Barnes
I'm an automotive journo working a dead-end job. I'm pretty knowledgeable about the industry and a great writer. I have ambition and the certainty that I could be paid more for my skills. However job is /comfy and I'm looking for a source of extra income. I can write copy and work pretty well designing stuff, but I dunno how to code or how to begin. Any further reading/how to start info would be a godsend
Henry Torres
That's the spirit bro. Copy is a big part of it so you'll be suited. Definitely learn some basic HTML/JS/CSS so you can at least edit ripped landing pages to replace URLs and remove basic protections/redirections. Then just read some getting started guys on affiliatefix.com. Also check out the Mobidea guides and guys blogs and guides like Charles Ngo, iAmAtilla, LukePeerfly.
Good luck brother. Just remember you will lose money at the start to gather data and learn. Just think of it as buying data. I lost around $3k USD in a couple months before I got some successful campaigns and turned it around bigtime!

What is affiliate shaving?
Jayden Nguyen
BeMob is a good tracker. Voluum has gotten pretty expensive to be honest. Also a really sick looking new tracker is PeerClick. Has the same fraud tracker as Voluum along with other new features and way cheaper. I might even move to it if I can ever be bothered but I can't personally vouch for it as I've never used it. I know Voluum and BeMob are almost 100% reliable. Ive had 100% uptime on BeMob in the last year. Email me if you want a discount link for BeMob, I've got one.
Angel Foster
It's where affiliate networks report that you have less conversions than you actually do. For example, basically shaving (stealing) every tenth conversion.
Cameron Stewart
thanks for the share, i agree that voluum is expensive, i think they shifted to targeting enterprises. i was about to join bemob, but will look into peerclick. a coupon would be nice, i just sent you an e-mail with my personal e-mail (alex...).
Isaiah Green
did you build your own websites and get money from redirecting people from there?
