I'm thinking about taking a job. Basically on the road 365. So no rent. Food is a tax right off. 32 bucks an hour with over time after 8. Run two log books so I can work extra time. Will I kill myself if I do this for a few years?
Is truck driving redpilled?
it's bretty based but after a while, it becomes annoying because everything is timed. even your breaks and time off you start to count down the time. but very fun traveling across the country and easiest money i ever made. if you have any questions, shoot
>gets paid 150k yearly
>Get back 35k because of your truck breaking
>what is automation
sorry to burst your bubble user but there wont be any truck drivers in 10 years max
>for a few years
oh never mind then
Op it is good for a single guy. MAke sure to exercise too. Push ups pull ups etc. don’t get too ducking horny to where you start fucking black stinky whales
That's why I want to do it now faggot.
Destroy your health, chronically alone and only like 40k a year. Umm no.
Did you ever piss in an empty milk jug and then drill it out your window onto the highway?
Which will be completely automated out of existence first?
1.) CPAs
2.) Truck drivers
how do i get started with zero qualfications?
what about health?
family issues with travel?
what company is good to work for
Truck driving is about to be automated away by self-driving trucks.
Elon literally just said that Tesla will have full self-driving cars with no steering wheel required in less than 2 years.
Most likely truck drivers will be replaced by minimum wage truck attendants, who just sit in the truck and make sure nothing goes wrong. The job will be easier but will pay way less.
It's pretty gay tbqh but at first there is a certain euphoria about it especially when you mix it weed or cocaine
I'm 24 and trucked two years ago before realizing the money to be made was running heavy equipment so big you need a CDL
Dream job for me
wat
Trucker here already. I made 110k last year after tax. As an employee
how many hours/week did you typically drive?
How many years experience
A busy week is like 100+ hours. But average around 84. But I also have a lot of days off. Right now i have a schedule with 7 days off and 21 days on.
I've been doing this for 6 years. Also I want to do it for another few years and then do something else. It's not a bad job though. Just sit in the truck and drive until you're tired then pull over. Eat well, stay in shape, don't smoke, etc and it's pretty nice.
Schedule is so tight, you loose grip of your awaken state, you hit 12 children while they cross the road or simply hit another car.
Hello, my fucked up, sleeping schedule!
Tell me guys, I'm wrong.
Who cares about family user. You think about yourself. As for having no experience, I don't know. I got into this when times were busy. My first job made me about 80k per year however. And honestly a monkey could probably drive a truck. It's not hard. My advice is job in now while you can. Do 5 years or so and stack your money and go from there
How hard is the driving off the interstate? Going down the highway sounds comfy, but getting off and on and getting gas etc seems like hell.
Ups driver here. I make between 95-105k a year depending on ot. That’s working 45-50 hours a week, 60 a week in December
Free health insurance, I’m up to 6 weeks paid vacation, weekends off, home every night.
Automation will not take off city deliveries for a long time. Otr I can see happening in the near future.
Your not allowed to smoke marijuana.
>Elon said...
Not worth much user, he's a pathological liar & has been barred by the SEC for his bullshit promises.
Doesn't company pay?
Inspections scales fuel tire blowouts blizzard weather what a colossal PIA
They’re all pajeets now too
yeah, but i never threw out the jug, always found a trash can
Do you ever drive around and see teslas all around you and think, hmmm maybe this guy is legit? Because I think that all the time. They're everywhere here
go to cdl school, they will help you pass your tests and help you find a job. recruiters come in all the time. decent family time with the right company, but no way i would go that job if i weren't single. try to work for a mid size company 100-200 trucks; family owned is good. but do some research and see what you like. there's a lot more to do than just drive if that's your thing.
interstate is nice; some country highways are ok; but city driving in a 53' trailer with a full sleeper cab-fuck that. it's why they have the day cabs and 48' trailers
Do you get to choose or they make u take what they need done
I rarely drive on major highways. Also never drive in cities. City driving doesn't seem fun. I pull a fairly short trailer and have a massive bunk on the truck and even then, I don't like tight areas. Fuel is at my employers shop that I go to for maintenance, etc. I can't speak for long haul trucking. That seems like a pajeet activity to me
Well where do you drive then?
>tfw truck drivers in your country get paid $15k a year at BEST
I'd honestly consider doing it if I'd get paid like you ameribros
Maybe I’ll give it a whirl. No contracts though, is that rare? Don’t lock me down damnit.
Put all the $$$ into BTC
My uncle started doing this when he was 18, really dedicated himself. It’s a lot of work but you can’t do it perminantely you must have a purpose besides it. He is now worth about 250m USD due to live stock and milk production.
Overall pretty based if you’re smart enough
Oilfield
TX or MT? Was that already your home state with family or all alone out there?
Can a hearing impaired person do this, do you still rely on CB radios
If youre planning to wageslave for more than 10 years you will never make it
You sleep in the cab on the job then drive home in personal vehicle for your few days off? How far away is home? Not paying rent/housing is key
Answer me faggot! Ain’t nobody living in Kermit, TX
you'll generally be over the road your first year...there are some companies that will train noobs for local jobs
guess the larp ended, that was fun
Why you lying. Median wage for truckers is something ike 45k.
Yeah. Texas oilfield maybe 60 before tax, and where’s his home? Weak
I'm the Oilfield user. I live in Canada
I don't interact with anyone all day. The odd time dispatch sends me a text. This varies by location though. Some roads are radio control roads. But not my main area
I sleep in the cab, yes. On days off I go sleep in an RV. No rent.
I work like 100 hours a week you faggot. Sure, some Indian delivering groceries might get 45k, but I put in a lot of 16 hour days. 8 hours plus 8 hours of over time.
