Dubai/AD is awful for westerners. 95% of the available women are prostitutes and the 5% remaining are dried up western roasties. The quality of life is outwardly good, but once you have seen a big mall and skyscraper and an expat bar that's it. Paying for sex is expensive and so is everything else.

The weather sucks and is like a fucking oven 90% of the year. Traffic is ok but emraties drive like maniacs in giant suvs and you will get run off the road if you don't avoid them. It is not a pleasant place, and slavery is right below the surface everywhere.

It's muslim country yes, but nobody really gives a fuck, especially when you are not local. There are certain restrictions during ramadan, like curtained up restaurants and hotels not allowing guests to the dinner buffet before the imam on TV blows his whistle.

The salary for educated westerners is superficially good, but again the cost of living is extremely high. You can wind up making the same or less than you would in home country unless you have a really great setup from your employer.
