But why not pick a project that will actually be appealing and useful to the economy? What business will ever utilize what XMR has to offer? I think it’s great as a currency... but then why not BTC? Because BTC will fulfill the requirements of the vast majority who are just looking to use crypto as a currency (or some other meme lightweight currency coin like LTC or BCH, both with more exposure and accessibility than XMR)

I like them both about the same. XMR is technically better, but BTC will still be king for quite some time. At the end of the day though, they're still proof of work and will be considered antiquated in a few years.
