>got offered another job with a massive pay rise >took it despite hating the guy who interviewed me and numerous red flags >been here a month >absolutely fucking hate it and dread waking up every day >loved my old boss and my old job >old boss keeps emailing me asking me how it's going and saying he's happy it's going well (I didn't tell him I hate it) >know they're really busy and are recruiting hard for my old job but don't have anyone yet
Would it be in poor taste to get really drunk and call him up crying and beg for my old job back? The new company is fucking shit and I'm super close to just walking out and never coming back every day.
no, tell him you loved your job. looks like he values you not only as an employee but as a person too
Jace Diaz
Is there any way to get an exit? I know its hard but ig you can stay for a year you could move on to a better job, or a better position at your old job. Quitting after a month just looks bad.
Caleb Howard
If I need to stay for a year I might KMS.
Wyatt King
This is my nightmare. If your old boss is still in contact with you it sounds like that bridge is open if you'd like to go back. You could just ask him how he feels about you going back when you're sober. The worst that can happen is he says no. Then you're still where you are anyway, can't hurt.
Leo Bennett
You really think your old boss will take you back after you were disloyal? Dumb fucking entitled millennial.
Jaxon Davis
You need to stay for at least a year, or else you'll nuke your resume. Then you should consider transferring internally to a different team or branch-swinging to a different company before you take a big pay cut to go back to a job that's more comfortable.
Keeping your pay high is what will eventually give you the freedom to do whatever job you want or no job at all.
It's a tiny company (around 20 employees) so I cant move to another department or anything like that.
Since it's a small company couldn't I just pass it off in interviews like I made a brave career leap but the opportunity turned out to not be what was promised and the company shit?
I only have a year's experience in the industry elsewhere if it matters, I'm 23.
Asher Taylor
Why don't any of you just lie or exaggerate? On my resume I only put the year(s) I worked there IE "2015, 2014-14, 2017-Present" etc
Gabriel Torres
>what is LinkedIn
Lincoln Scott
Why do you need LinkedIn for a job?
Jace Russell
Because to get a job you need LinkedIn
Connor Flores
yikes, yeah that's a tough situation because if you're applying for a job after two one-year stints at two different companies, it'll look bad.
Like, before they give you an interview or a phone call, recruiters will wonder: - is he a bad worker? did he get fired / pushed out twice in a row? - does he get bored / dissatisfied easily and if I hire him he's just going to leave after one year? - etc. etc.
At the end of the day it's a hot job market and you might be able to find a new job even with two one-year stints. But it'll be harder.
Anyway you should definitely not take a big pay cut because making money is how you achieve freedom.

Who doesnt have LinkedIn?
Matthew Robinson
I have a job and don't use LinkedIn.
Ian Ortiz
>loyalty Get a load of this cuck
Daniel Perez
a lot of job applications have a field where you're supposed to put a link to your LinkedIn.
in white collar corporate America, and especially in the upper echelons, it's weird to not have a LinkedIn
you guys are potentially missing out on huge opportunities by not having a LinkedIn.
I have branch-swung into higher-paying jobs twice as a result of recruiters contacting me on LinkedIn.
If you do not keep a polished LinkedIn you are a brainlet. A good LinkedIn is like a 24/7 advertisement for your labor, and as a result of it people literally come to you asking if they can give you a better job and pay you more money to keep doing the same kind of work you already do.

All the larping neets round here
Adrian Allen
Well alright I'm sold, but unironically.
I had a LinkedIn before but didn't like the thought of personal information and my phoro out there. But I guess if you want to be successful you have to do the needful in this world
Take your old job back user. I think you're a cuck for valuing your coworkers over the money but there's definitely a balance. Your mental health comes first.
