With bitcoin you can easily set up a system where you have approved group of peers who can comment for free, have peers-of-peers (1 hop) pay a small fee to comment (say 1 dollar) and have complete strangers you never interacted with pay $5 dollars to comment. All the parameters can be set by you, because you are in control. This is the system that Bitcoin can create.

It's going to be fucking beautiful and super interesting having new economic incentive structures at play in public debate.

To add, this means if you wanna talk shit and flood someones feed with bots and trolls, you make that person wealthy in the process, while at the same time draining your own resources.

It's never actually been built because it requires seamless and instant micro-transactions to work, which only BSV enables. The closest we have right now is Yours which works fine, but it's more of a blogging site than a dedicated social media network like twitter.

Social networks on the blockchain are too computationally expensive. It's just not worth the hassle unless it's the kind of data that is not welcome elsewhere. Pay-to-post is never gonna work.

The network itself as well as the content would not be hosted on the blockchain, only the payment channels. This ensures the media company behind is in control of the hosted content to comply with law enforcement, while the payment system is integrated into the platform through the blockchain through a moneybutton like functionality.

The payment system is the whole point, are you paying attention? The economics involved changes the entire incentive system. Good content creators make money and can set their own prices, which incentivize them to host their stuff on this network rather than another. This results in content exclusivity - all the good stuff and all your favorite commentators, comedians, writers or artists are on this platform (because that's where they can make the most money), which creates demand. You can still use the free sites, but pewdiepie, elon musk taylor swift and ellen degeneres is no longer post or put content on there.

Instead you sign up to the BSV site, load your wallet up with 20 dollars worth of coins, and you can start participating in the micropayment economy for the stuff that you like.

There would be no barrier to entry for content creators, like partnerships or asking to be monetized, you just host your stuff and put a price, so it self-regulates economically. The company running the site and the servers will take a small cut off all transactions like 3-5% and the content creators get the rest. This type of model is impossible to do with fiat, but is possible, dare I say inevitable, on the Bitcoin SV blockchain due to low fees and instant transactions.

It's coming in the future. Someone is going to build this, and get the economics right and it will take off in popularity.
