the devs recently made a medium post about updates to the chan here: medium.com/@sumpunk
overall, it has serious potential in my opinion. the app itself only interacts with a smart contract and there isnt a mechanism with which anyone can censor that activity from happening short of taking down the entire ETH blockchain and as of today ETF's on ETH are in the pipeline for approval, so just count that out altogether.
the moderation is also decentralized and sourced out to posters on the board to vote on if a post or user needs to be reprimanded for whatever they posted.
anyways, general discussion on this unique reinvention of 4chins
>not knowing that according to the 0xchan white paper that staking into the board (2 ETH) will earn you passive income from not even posting on it
its essentially a get paid to post model is what im getting at here. read the white paper
Hunter Martin
they just told me in discord that it will never moon. literally pointless to hold this token as they will be minted forever
Adrian White
This is an absurdly bad idea, faggots are just going to put the worst cp imaginable onto these blockchains
William Murphy
and when they do that, it will be traced back to the 0x address they posted with and thru some nerd magic they will likely end up in prison if they are not 100% anonymous.
Liam Foster
and it goes without saying that illegal content will be voted off of the board and the user who posted the content will suffer a 2 ETH loss of their stake in the board.
so the question is, is 2 ETH worth losing just so you can attack an autistic decentralized version of Jow Forums with just for some lulz?
Christian Price
to be fair you have a very low IQ, this project isnt that complicated to understand and if you really did read the white paper you have absolutely no reading comprehension whatsoever
Christian Morales
so who decides if you lose your stake
Henry Hill
i did read the white paper. my IQ is just fine thank you very much, the white paper takes a mistaken approach to the whole idea. this needs to be rethought out.
Anthony Morris
10 people vote on whatever post gets reported. if 6 of them vote in favor of issuing a "ban" or a penalty of your 2 ETH stake (text and image posting) or .5 ETH stake (text only posting) then the post if removed from the smart contract index so the board no longer pulls that post info and posters stake is distributed to all posters with a stake in the board. this is all in the whitepaper.
Camden Howard
Tell me you plan to integrate chainlink so we can bet on gets via smart contracts
Aaron Fisher
why, the dev of course! this is just a cleverly disguised ponzi eth "game" lmao
Nathan Perez
i'll relay this to the dev literally right now
Ryder Gray
and zcl holders?
Blake Murphy
am i right in saying the more CP posted and the more bans, the higher the income for the site?
Justin Rodriguez
this has to be the most retarded thing ever
Brody Williams
>ITT newfags with dreams It HAS been tried multiple times, and every time some poojeet army floods the board with CP, begging for gibs and scams.
Camden Clark
Yea bro cmon u guys want users and we want to use it but not without chainlink integration. It's what we all obsess about daily
Matthew Sanchez
holding ZCI or ZCH will get your passive income via dividends. you can either choose to use ZCH for posting or just hold it and earn passive off of staking.
precisely. the cost to attack 0xchan is 2 ETH (whatever the current price is at xyz time in the future of the attack) so if someone wants to just attack the board with literal illegal content their stake is penalized and distributed out to all 0xchan users who have an active stake. staking is to prevent malicious actors and pajeets from posting altogether.
Adrian Gomez
>selling (you)s LMAO
Carter Johnson
yeah, but they only lose heir stake once they get banned, this takes time, they could flood the board with loads of posts before being banned for 2 ETH
Hunter Jones
If I write about my crippling autism and post loli toons that I made, do I lose my Eth?
Jaxon Morales
because you have to get 10 people to vote.
see? this whole thing is retarded and complicated now
Ayden Hill
I've always wanted to pay 1 penny per shitpost that takes 30 minutes to complete...
100% likely at this point. I am probably gonna have to become a dev in hopes of accumulation of the ETH, sirs
Ryder Davis
a user cannot be "banned" in the sense a Jow Forums user is banned for xyz amount of days without posting abilities. 0xchan does not record IP's - and there is not a mechanism to prevent anyone from interacting with the smart contract that powers 0xchan. since this entire chan concept is literally ran off of a smart contract. so, once the user is "banned" their 2 ETH stake is taken. all they have to do to post back to the board is put another stake back into the board.
Evan Harris
yes. if 10 ZCH holders decide your post was spam, 6 out of 10, then you lose your eth. its great fun to post for the whole family
Christian Johnson
didnt you get the news? ETH 2.0 code base is set for completion at the end of June. and its likely the code will go mainnet in 2020.
>it will be instant posting.
Jordan Jackson
yeah so basically, if 6 people disaprove of your post, you lose $340
Asher Torres
and the voting will take time. each user gets a notification they need to vote on something. they have xyz amount of days to vote. if they fail to vote, the smart contract notifies another user they need to vote, process continues until 10 votes are cast.
Easton Jenkins
in the meantime the person is free to post thousands of gigabytes of CP
Aiden Richardson
If you have to stake to post, this will NEVER be successful.
Adrian Jones
exactly.
Isaac Phillips
chump change really but i get your point. its doubtful imo that 10 users will all choose to abuse the mod vote system. its just something we will have to wait and see.
only a fool would do that since by default your posts on 0xchan are linked to your 0x address. and nearly every fiat gateway to buying ETH is kyc. there is almost a zero percent chance someone doesnt get arrested for that. imo
the stake is to prevent spam, malicious actors, and pajeets from posting the board operates in such a way that users are paid to post via a passive income structure.
and to be quite frank, i dont want to post on any chan with some fucking poorfag who thinks 2 ETH is "a lot of money"
if u nomsayin
Jackson Gray
2 words: sybil attack
Thomas Wright
You're a moron, chief.
Jaxson Ward
impossible. but try harder to fud the project
and you probably have a networth sub $10k >sad
Ian Brooks
so why have a stake at all? why not just delete it from the frontend and let law enforcement handle the rest?
Ethan Thomas
sybil attack means that i can pretend to be 10 people with 10 seperate eth addresses and i can make a vote against anyone
Oliver Cook
funny how that's your defense. I'd love to detail MY crypto project that has silicon valley vc funding behind it and >$10m valuation 2 years in, but you'd probably go try and look up the team info and dox all of us.
Cuz you're mad and your idea is bad.
Sebastian Cook
Actually thinks the rich get richer by doing nothing is good
Mason Green
because that would require a degree of centralization. >0xchan is self moderated by all of its users
there is no central entity for the police to contact if something on 0xchan is illegal. the police can literally just look thru the blockchain at all the info about the post.
>what is randomization its exceedingly unlikely one person with 10 addresses will have more than 1 address chosen to vote ont he same post in question
Jason Martin
Lol pay eth to shitpost. This is going to be huge!
Jordan Cox
it will fail. the game theory behind the voting system is beyond retarded. Please explain to me how the system aims to prevent that even normal content gets 5+ down votes?? Users could just collude and ban / downvote everything because they personally benefit. The more bans the more ETH for everyone.
Tyler Russell
furthermore, why would anyone even want to do this? what would they gain? nothing of importance.
your point is moot.
Logan Price
yeah like i said, the police can look at the blockchain. so why bother with the stake? why penalise? anyone can put cp on a blockchain for pennies. they dont need 0xchan to do it. so just have token holders vote for mods to delete it from the front end?
Carter Morris
your argument is that you want centralization. thats a newfag point. hasnt the centralized mods on this board and others like it ever fucked you over?
i'd rather have a random jury of my peers vote on whether my posts get banned/etc
Andrew Johnson
well, if people getting banned means investors make higher divs then token holders might have an incentive to ban people using a sybil attack. my point is far from moot you pseud
Josiah Parker
t. pls give me centralized kike mods
gas yourself nigger
Isaac Green
You sound like a utter faggot. I will now fud this garbage every time I see it based on how much of a bitch you’re acting like. This won’t need to really be fudded bc it’s obvious how pointless this shit is. Kys and get saged.
Logan Morales
i bet you dont even have $20k to your name in liquid thats how low IQ i think you are dude. im done with your brainlet questions.
Michael Young
t. assmad pajeet
stay mad. poorfag.
Jack Brown
so wait, people voting to ban and people voting for mods to do the banning is different how? why not just have no bans, and have a true free for all, do away withh censorship altogether.
Blake Stewart
The voting system will turn it into reddit
Nolan Martinez
No one is going to pay 2 ETH so they can post on a Reddit x Jow Forums abortion.
delete your "code base"
Carter James
mate im an early bitcoin adopter and original ethereum ICO investor. you've messed the whole concept of a decentralised Jow Forums up badly
Kevin Evans
Okay sumpunks lil dicksucker. Nobody is going to actually use this besides p3dtards. The amount of stupidity in this whole thread is ridiculous lol. You actually think this is going to be successful. Lemme guess, your dumbass bought in and helped fill the 200 eth in buys. Wasn’t the cap set at 2000 eth? Seems like even p3dtards aren’t braindead enough to throw money into this trash. Fucking Kek my sides
that seems awfully easy to form a group and take down things you don't like
Eli Martinez
t. this faggot actually enjoys posting with poorfags, pajeets, and he loves it when kike mods ban him for stupid shit
you are the cancer killing Jow Forums.
Christopher Evans
you're the poorfag who thinks 20k is worth boasting
Jaxon Phillips
>this faggot is actually pajeet shilling on Jow Forums Fucking Kek how fucking stupid could you possibly be. >you are the cancer killing Jow Forums Lmfao meanwhile you’re shitting it up with this garbage idea that will lose people money. Fucking classic holy fucking kek
but just keep in mind, ISP's have already gotten away with preventing their users from accessing Jow Forums and cripple chan. its just a matter of time before accessing Jow Forums in general becomes impossible due to political climates. therefore, the need for a censorship resistent and decentralized chan emerges.
i also bet you make insanely terrible trades since you fail to see the usecase requirements of the future. enjoy posting on your kikebook and twitter when legacy Jow Forums becomes extinct.
Kayden Ortiz
sybill attack is possible for selecting what to ban, but the jurying process is stilll randomized and thus not possible.
it's no different from what we have now, except instead of a mod accessing your reports you have a randomized selection of users
everyone is a jannie
Bentley Ortiz
no my argument was the incentives for the voting system are fucked up. so stay on topic, i am neither for nor against jannies although you have to admit that incentivizing the whole community to ban content is stupid af. at least if you can't get banned too for banning / downvoting normal content
Isaiah Wilson
>hurrrrrrrrr back to discord you go little faggot. Stop projecting your problems onto people lol >24 replies You must really be upset right now. I love pissing faggots off like yourself. Keep these responses coming please.
if the community decides that content is not ban worthy then the reporter gets penalized
Camden Bennett
why is this BETTER than what we have now. the main issue i see is that we have jannies at all. whats the point of a decentralised Jow Forums if we just replace jannies with random kangaroo courts of anons how will this materially benefit us? or is this all just a social experiment?
Xavier Lee
how is everyone incentivized to auto vote in favor of a ban on the system when they themselves could potentially get fucked? i think you'll find that "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" will be a key built in user behavior on 0xchan when it comes to moderation. i'd like to think most ppl are not as greedy as you are apparently assuming they are.
>your point is moot and will be time tested to be a non-issue
Kevin Rivera
well if 200 users use the platform and 100 discord faggots decide to down vote everything no matter what to earn more divs than you are fucked.
David Thompson
whats stopping a group to vote ban harmless posts for the eth?
Colton Wood
because false reporting on 0xchan can result in you losing your stake of 2 ETH or .5 ETH
Mason Cook
>decentralized chan >10 people can vote and take your eth Fucking lel what a meme. If Jow Forums goes down something else will take its place and it won’t be a pay to post memeboard. Youre missing the forest for the trees here you braindead Imbecile.
Luis Stewart
>he still doesnt understand that 0xchan users are PAID to post
you didnt pass your high school english classes did you?
Eli Perry
the point it's uncensorable and perhaps untraceable. OP's point that people who put illegal content can be traced is moot as you could easily use a mixer
tldr: >pedos can put illegal content that's how it is. pedos can put illegal content on chain NOW. >why is this better not necessarily, it's worse in terms of cost, but better in terms of robust-ness against censorship and heightened anonymity
Josiah Thomas
except that what is false will be decided by them
Jackson Martin
>paid with an erc20 shitcoin Wow so kewl LOL
Nicholas Sanchez
worse in terms of upfront cost*. Apparently you can withdraw your stake and be paid to post
Evan Stewart
so people with money control the imageboard well thats a good idea but why dont i just post on facebook
Henry Cook
again, i am not looking at individuals but group behaviour and collusion.
>if 200 users use the platform and 100 discord faggots decide to down vote everything no matter what to earn more divs then you are fucked.
Jayden Rivera
my thoughts exactly anyome with a few hundred eth can be its despot
Adrian Lopez
listen u nigger, NOTHING online that claims to be "Free" is actually free
>you pay for "free" services with your user information >gookmoot data mines all of us and sells it to xyz glow niggers >literally nothing online is free
thats the real point you are missing because apparently you are a sweet summer child.
Ryan Moore
when i talked to the devs about that same issue they said they do have a contingency plan if the system becomes gamed in any way. its only something that can be time tested at this point.
Alexander Collins
OP have you considered removing rewards for banning? It'll be no different than jannies
at the moment this is no different than for-profit hospitals or prisons
Samuel Gomez
>sweet summer child How is that axe wound healing?
Sebastian Collins
read this post:
Lucas Allen
>he doesn't understand that i will never post a single word on a platform where 10 random people could possibly steal my collateral of 2 ETH. holy fuck, give me a break. the delusion
Cameron Carter
>everyone is as terrible and shitty a person as i am
gas yourself dude. not everone is an evil asshole like you apparently are.
Adam Smith
fuck off with this scam shillbert.
Hunter Butler
>implying i am a discord tranny
im well known in whale circles as the schloppydoggo aka crypto jack. look me up sometime sweetie.
Brody Torres
how could it be a scam, brainlet?
the whole board concept is literally interactions with a smart contract. lul
