Hey guys, I read some comments that some dudes here got fuxked up on vyvanse. Been on it for about a yr, and it helps with ADD, but curious about the long term side effects that people here experienced. Thanks man.

Amphetamines are so fucking bad for you in the long run. Anhedonia, primary among the side effects, is a BITCH to reverse. It takes years of sobriety to fully enjoy pleasurable stimuli again. Vyvanse and all amphetamines are neurotoxic and will destroy your neuroplasticity while subjecting you to chronic intense stress which is a massive trigger for long term depression (In mice studies where they need to create depression in mice for studies of anti-depressants, scientists subject them to chronic stress). Enjoy grinding your teeth and feeling paranoid, derealized, psychotic, and antisocial.

As a followup, i should say i was on every form of amphetamine and related drug for add from age 8 all the way til 18 until i quit cold turkey. No coffee, no stimulants til i was 25. Took a long time to recover and i think my cardiac health also suffered greatly over the years of use.

That sounds pretty bad, however, I haven't really experienced any of those symptoms other than dry mouth and weight loss around 10 pounds. Been on it for a yr now, doctor getting me to see a shrink now. Hmm

Ignore the pschitzso, basically you need to take more & more of it as time goes by. The specialist should’ve told you this. Go off it for a few months every once in a while.
I prefer Vyvanse way over generic adderral, that shit is peaky as crypto

The shrinks are the common prescription writers is all, the doctor has actual ill patients to see

Why the fuck are GPs allowed to prescribe drugs that deal with mental health? Anyone taking something for mental health should be monitored by a psychiatrist, accordingly. It's terrifying to me that GPs can prescribe stimulants and antidepressants

>can someone explain why doing cocaine long term is bad for you

I don't know. I am in Canada and the doctor is able to prescribe it. What will the shrink do? Check how severe my ADD is?

>another amphetamine thread

Daily reminder Modafinil/Armodafinil is superior in every single way, from potency, to lack of toxicity, to lack of addiction, to duration of effects.

>my buddy & I were out at a party & had too much to drive
>cool off have some water etc
>friends gf says I have adderall
>just-what-I-need.jpg
>it was this vyvance shit, made us 100x worse
>crashed at the house, gf was epic pissed
>buddy lost it & took off
>wakes up at truck stop
This shit is jank

That shit gave me heart palpations like crazy. And ive tangled with Aderall, cocaine and amfetamines.

junkie

I have it sometimes. If load up on coffee and vyvanse, I do sense heart palpitations.

Side effects are only bad if you take too much

It’s not a fucking degenerate pleasure drug retard. It’s for add. Yeah man pop this anti cancer red blood cell medication brah it’s the best trip! Kys

Have you ever had adderall when your tipsy? It straightens you out.
This janky shit is weaker than coffee with none of the perks.
Its add medicine for faggots with no psychological wherewithal

Medication in addition to cognitive behavioral therapy will help most with ADHD live a productive life. Living a happy life? You have to learn how your head really works. Medication helps, but only when you can consciously rebuild your thought patterns. Last step is coping with your past and your demons. It's not easy growing up with ADHD especially if left untreated until adulthood. I'll stop the blogpost early and just tell you what you should watch to understand the disorder. This guy has tons of lectures worth watching. Some will probably be tough to take in depending on how late in life you were diagnosed. It's a shame how overdiagnosed adhd is in the states, as the more specific & painful indicators are brushed aside for examination of adherence to the (((Pearson))) curriculum and its ever falling standards. Drink some water btw.

I take adderall XR (20mg to be exact) daily and overall it's helped out of my depression.
The thing with most medication is that you have to use it like a tool, so I only allow myself to take it when I meet certain criteria (wake up early and workout, etc.) and when I'm on it I get my schoolwork for Uni done and ignore literally everything else
I've brought up long-term effects up to three different medical professionals over the past year and they've all said there's nothing to be concerned with as long as I don't abuse the drug (which I don't plan to do ever)

AMA about adderall, I got it prescribed for mainly depression and motivation issues

how did you get it prescribed, what did you say? hello i think im depressed i have no motivation to do anything? and.. from a doctor or psychologist?

They will ask you about sleep and exercise habits first. There's a lot of serious shit that can look like ADHD. Don't play games and take your health seriously. Say you think it is a possibility and would like to explore it. Junkies looking for scripts get the rope btw.

I have a really long history with ADHD meds. Greentext below is all the negatives I experienced but the TL;DR is they just made me compulsively masturbate and when they stopped working I graduated to smoking meth, which ruined my life completely

> In small doses ADHD meds work pretty well: better concentration, focus, about 3x as productive as sober
> However you eventually build a tolerance; they stop working and you need more
> In recreational doses amphetamines lose the focusing effect and just make you insanely horny
> It's entirely possible to be put on a recreational dose of amphetamines 'medically' by an irresponsible doctor
> When I was on high doses of ritalin or amphetamine I'd get insanely horny and masturbate for hours and hours
> Eventually I lost interest in using them to study and became a masturbation addict
> Eventually the ADHD meds stopped giving me the effect I desired
> Graduated to cocaine
> Cocaine too expensive to do every day
> Graduated to meth
> Meth is insanely long lasting and powerful; I would literally be up for 4 days at a time masturbating, would end up with pain in my dick, hand and buttcheeks
> Also started hallucinating
> Couldn't work, ran out of money
> Had to move back in with my parents

I'm never touching ADHD meds again

Prescribed by a psychiatrist. I was on lexapro for a year or so, but while I didn't feel hopeless and suicidal anymore, in my day-to-day doings I still had trouble focusing and accomplishing things, so I was suggested to give adderall a try to lift me up and kick me in the ass. I noticed immediate results on 5mg starting out and got more done in my first day than I had in the whole month prior to trying it

damn, did you have any warning signs of addictive tendencies before your prescription?

Vyvanse is the shit. If last 8-12 hours and has a much smoother come up and come down than adderall. Poor people take adderall.

Not really but to be fair ADHD meds were among the first drugs I ever tried in my life

Alright, so I fucked up and ending up abusing my adderall xr 20mg script for the past two months. Not crazy amounts, 40mg here and 60mg (potentiated with baking soda) there with a day or a few inbetween typically. Been out of school and work and I know I fucked up. I want to use it therapeutically again, I didn't mess up any chances of this did I? Been taking magnesium and abstaining. How long until I should begin using it as prescribed again?

I tried moda for the first time today for studying, It might have had some effect but nothing like vyanse. Tried that a year ago and it made me focus for 12 hours straight.

What did you do when you used it recreationally? Did you use it to fuel massive hours-long marathon masturbation sessions? Once you've conditioned yourself to do that on stimulants it's kinda hard to go back to therapeutic use.

Yeah thats what I did LMAO. And play games or write. Not necessarily hours long. And I want to clarify that it'd be 40mg xr a day or 60mg xr a day. Please, any advice you have would be much appreciated.

even if you have a prescription for this (as I do) I believe it is absolutely delusional to think that amfetamines are needed every single day of your life. I used it daily but scaled it back to mon-thur only and I try to only take it mon and tues. tolerance breaks are important, I've never needed more than 10mg a day and ive used it for years.

Pleasure is over rated.

Vyvanse was great, as it rebuilds your neuro pathways, until you are faster in thought than anyone else. It’s like traveling in the fast lane but everyone is going 30 and cuts in front of you... or you’re always 10 moves ahead in chess... then the vyvanse anger issues set in.... I switched back to amp, as it’s easier to manage. If you have a relationship, get off of vyvanse after 6-18 months

I did mod for a few years. I agree it’s great... however the I had issues with my nose that drove me nuts... it’s a common side effect... also the sleep deprivation started to really hit home after a year. Not to mention who knows the long term side effects, it was developed for and by the military for globetrotting pilots
