For the last two years I have mainly held my coins on exchanges and now I have decided to withdraw it all and take control over my keys. What wallet should I use? I have only ever used Exodus in the past for a few days. Exodus is not open source. As for hardware wallets, Ledger is not open source either. Also, what is the difference between Ledger Nano S and X? What about Trezor?
A ledger is piece of mind. I'm sure some neet will come in here telling you to build an air gapped virgin clean pc for crypto only but the ledger is worth it for the convenience of having it all in one place.

i asked you how much in crypto asset do you have stupid cunt. go for a free option if you dont have that much, like a phone app. None of the apps like mycelium have been hacked it's 95% secure.

hardware wallets are just expensive mnemonic storage devices
Kayden Williams
They're actually quite cheap, and they store your privatekey so it is never exposed. Typing your seedphrase into a PC? You're fucked. Trying to use your wallet on a compromised machine? You're fucked. Hardware wallets mitigate this problem. Ledger Nano X hasn't released yet. I have the Nano S because it already has Monero support, I'd recommend it. Haven't tried Trezor, but they both should be fine.
moneroaddress.org/ Do I just generate an address and write the seed on a usb or something, is that all they are?
Juan Diaz
No, because then you'll be exposing your private key to connected devices. IE risk getting it stolen. A hardware wallet is specifically designed to fix this problem.

buy soldering iron buy metal plates on amazon size of credit card solder your ledger secret words onto metal store in safe buy gun to keep funds and country safu
fucking retard, ledger nano s does price lock as well
Connor Harris
I still don’t understand price locking. Who would buy a “price-locked” bitcoin on an open market with much lower prices?
Xavier Stewart
don't derail my thread faggots, make a separate thread for price locking
Alexander Barnes
it doesn't matter who buys it or not because when you sell it, you're selling at the price you locked in at.
Jaxon Green
lol all these fucks buying trezorzzz and stuff for 100s of dollars. >download key generator programs(or write your own) > transfer program with usb to old computer WITH NO WIFI. >run program. get key. write down. send coins to address. never hook old computer to internet again. and you can still send from cold wallet using myethwallet and follow instructions from sending from offline computer. funds are unironically safu.
people are still cashing in 19k bitcoins that were price lock. why do you think we can break 6k. too many people were locked into 10k+ just have to wait it out until next bullrun. I wont make the mistake of locking my coins at 8k again
Owen Hall
it takes 20 mins you computer illiterate fuck.
Christopher Lopez
Locked price is bound by smart contract i.e. its immutable.
Ryan Reed
Ledger nano s. Was 50 bucks. Havent sent any bitcoin to it yet because cashapp is retarded and only lets me send to binance because it was the first address I withdrew to. **MAKE SURE YOU WITHDRAW TO YOUR COLD WALLET NOT GOOKANCE
I have a ledger nano s. Works great. Don't get one if you're a mobile only poor fag, the mobile app needs you to do a one time synch to the desktop app before it'll let you use the ledger on your phone. After that initial synch you never need to use the desktop app again. Don't buy the OTG cable from ledger, they over charge for it. I'm thinking about buying other wallets just to try them out for the fun of it, but I honestly have no complaints about my ledger nano s.
Doesn't know ledger locks price! Go back to plebbit
Ryder Butler
Just store em in Binance, withdrawals are disabled so no one can steal them from you if they get access to your account.

Imagine admitting to being that guy who only considers holding his own crypto after he gets spooked. At least you're anonymous and people can only laugh at you through text, but even non-crypto normies would cringe at that.
Dominic Cooper
I can't afford to spend $100 on a Ledger My portfolio is only 1k

Imagine sucking so much cock that you start projecting your insecurities at an anonymous user on an anime forum.
Or just buy a Billfodl and store the 25th word in your head..

8 years from now you are on your way home to the gal of dreams, the hot one of your choosing after you made it. Some Stacy with 4 mixed nogs in the back t-bones a lifted Ford Raptor and rolls her minivan, taking you in the next lane out with her. You wake up in the hospital with a head injury, an unquenchable desire for baked beans you've never had before, and the inability to remember your seed word. What do?
Daniel Bennett
The screen on the keepkey is kinda cool, pretty cyberpunky.
John Perry
>dust off that old PC you never use >download MEW index to USB and transfer it to old PC >generate wallet and encrypt your private keys >burn encrypted keys to a dvd >destroy old PC or keep around for cold storage transactions
William Stewart
what do you mean "lock in"?
Ayden Allen
this. safest and easiest
Kayden Kelly
Went you put them on a hardware wallet you can lock them in at the current price. it's a smart contract. like a stock option. some is buying the contract. it's a gamble on both sides. but people lock in at 19k are still cashing out
