My engine died this morning on the way to my wage cage. Does biz have any tips to keep me from getting jewed too hard? I have 6k for a down payment and no idea what my credit score is. I don't want to spend anymore than that and I sure as shit am not gonna touch my coins.
Buying a car
I just always buy new nowadays
6k down will get you in something new and reliable if you have good credit
This man is legally retarded.
Do not go to a dealership.
Do not buy new.
Do some research and find reliable car models. Find one of those cars used for $3000, learn some basic maintenance, and you'll have it running for the rest of your life if you put the effort in. The fact that you let one engine die is not a good sign.
But that would mean very high monthly payments. Anything above $300 monthly makes me worried. I could probably afford $600 monthly payments pretty easily but financial security is extremely important to me.
I agree with every statement by this user.
I had an oil leak that got worse. The engine was starved of oil and overheated catastrophically. I will never make this mistake again. It was 100% my fault and the car could have lasted another 100k miles if I would have kept up with maintenance.
Then you buy a used car from a trusted friend or pay a mechanic to check the used car over before you buy it. If you have 6k saved up then you shouldn't spend more than 2.5k on your vehicle if you are smart.
Get a 2008 Prius with 100k miles and save yourself the monthly payments. Will last forever w great mpg.
all the used car websites I look at don't include cars from before 2007 and they are all at least 15k.
Ive been happy with every new car Ive bought
Yeah your payment would probably be that much
I put about 15k down on my last car and I pay $197 a month for 5 years
problem with that is I get jewed for an extra 10% because I am a poorfag that can't afford to buy outright.
You are a good boy for admitting this anonymously to strangers on the internet, you will be a better man if you keep yourself honest to this statement.
But stop asking Jow Forums for advice cause we'd all sell you into slavery given the opportunity. The first post is someone trying to get you to waste your money on purpose.
You should contribute to a savings CD for 3 to 5 years first and save up a good down payment for a large purchase like a new car. Did you plan in advance for this, user? Planning is important user
>What is a dealer
They don't only sell new cars you know
>Paying 27k total for a car
Of course you'll be happy, you paid double what you should have and the dealer never wants to see your face again
But a shit car for $3k and drive it into the ground. Take the money you would have spent on car payments and save it or invest it in your favorite shit coin.
This user is right. You're being shit tested hard here by people who find your suffering funny.
>getting jewed
Get lost, racist manchild.
3K CIVIC
>3k CIVIC
3K CIVIC
>3K CIVIC
DON'T BE A STUPID KEK. DON'T GET KIKED. NOBODY GIVES A FUCK WHAT CAR YOU DRIVE, A NEW JAP SHITBOX GAINS YOU NO MORE RESPECT THAN AN OLD ONE
user:
Where do you live? I have 8 cars for sale right now for $6k or less.
It just a meme, I don't want to hurt anyones feelings. I thought you were all my bros I feel like I am in a wolves den.
I'm helping you, buddy. Like I said don't blow all your savings on a car. Call some dealerships, check Craigslist and pay a mechanic to look at your wanted vehicle. They will charge you their normal labor rate which will be around $40-$70 per hour. There are literally hundreds of used cars available for under 3k in my county alone
Not even close to double
The sticker price was like 25k and I got a few grand off
I was talked into an extended warranty for another 2k
I honestly didnt even pick the color or any options or anything
I didnt expect to buy a car
I received a flyer in the mail that had a really good price on it and said come test drive today
I went in to see if the price was real
It wasnt. He said I need to be a college student, and currently driving for uber, and in the military to get discounts and it still wasnt as cheap as the flyer
He sat me down and pressured me and I bought it
Im very happy with it though and I dont even notice $200 a month
If ya can't keep a shit box at least running what makes you think you can afford and actually maintain a brand new car? Listen to the other anons and buy used
My boss at work was trying to talk me into buying from carmax, of course they have nothing under 15k but it will be warrantied for at least 3 years. There are some good deals on craigslist but im worried about the logistics of getting them to my mechanic.
Fuck a warranty only warranty you need are reviews that backup a car is reliable and the fucking owners manual so you know exactly what to do to keep it running
How much did you save today?
Do you skip lunch to save money
Agreed. Op should study some basic car care skills at a local community college.
If you demonstrate responsibility then people will give you help. Have you discussed carpooling with your coworkers?
This has to be bait. One of the most retarded things I've ever read on this board.
Not bait
New cars are so comfy
Idc if it loses "30%" off the lot, its NEW!
And Ive never seen a lightly used low mile car under a year old for sale for 30% under original price
look man, im going to give you some real advice. the last 2 cars ive bought, i got from either Hertz car sales, or carmax. you really cant beat it. the cars are super well maintained, all the paperwork is there, so you know youre not getting scammed. and the cars typically have like 30k-40k miles on them. I got a 2017 toyota corolla with 40k miles on it for like 13k i think? monthly payments are cheap. i think its the best route to go. dont buy new, and dont trust ppl on craigslist, youll get scammed.
honestly this post is making me feel comfy. I just found a pretty nice 2012 ford fusion for $11k at the carmax near me. I could buy that outright if I really wanted to.
6k?!?! Why not just spend 2 or 3k fucking imbecile
I bought a 2009 Fusion for $5K like 3 years ago. You're getting ripped off.
I got a 2016 chevy sonic under 40,000 miles for $9800 from Hertz. Very happy with it and nobody else could come close to the price, probably because they don't haggle. But who the fuck wants to do that boomer shit anyway?
yeah after some research they are charging about 1.5k above blue book
define engine died
What part of the world are you in OP? If you tell me the country/city I'll find you a nice used car.
Get a shitbox for 2-4k. I just saved you $20k. You're welcome.
>I keep telling myself that I am happy for being financially raped by jews
Hope you learned your lesson.
Have you read Road & Track about the best car?
Make sure you are an educated shopper. Impress the salesman with automotive knowledge, this could intimidate him to give you a better deal
''''luxury''''''' cars are a meme. Nothing more than shiny wage cages. Get a cheap toyota.
suck a tailpipe shlomo
I could never feel comfortable driving around in a fucking Corolla or something though.
Then you're the absolute best goy around. My fucking parents paid cash for a big ass Escalade ESV as they felt that the toyotas that they drove for literally 20 years to 300,000 miles needed to go and that they should "treat themselves". They regretted it within 1 year and wished they'd just got a fucking Camry/Avalon. They ended up selling it used after 5 years and just buying a fucking Chevy with what they sold it for. Luxury cars are for literal plebs.
That's the thing a luxury car is cool for the first month then you get used to it and its literally just something that makes going from A to B slightly more comfortable. Thing is you end up spending like $20,000+ just to be slightly more comfortable, or to have something that you used to think was a status symbol, until you realize most people can easily afford luxury cars they're just not stupid enough to waste money on them. In the end no one gives a fuck what you drive unless its something exotic. No point in getting a luxury car as a status symbol either it just shows you're not rich enough to afford the next model up.
lmao, no shit they are if you get a Cadillac
If you got the cash, either buy a reliable 3-4 yr old car (honda/toyota) or buy new. No point in buying a clunker for todays prices
