Best Marketplace

Hi Jow Forums

British user wanna invest in Bitcoin but I don't know about markets. I had my trad bank and my e-bank both deny coinbase charges to my debit card.

Is there a way to buy bitcoin anonymously or semi-anonymously at a reasonable price that won't get shut down by my bank? Maybe those ATMs?

Cheers anons.

ATM is probably the most hassle free you’ll get if you got one close go you. Else you can try localbitcoin

great thanks. are ATMs extortionate for fees?

Also how do they work, do they give you a recipt which is essentially a paper wallet?

I am just investing a small amount for keeping in a paper wallet.

I know that place and live nearby, surreal. Anyway, there's localbitcoins but they charge a premium price for privacy. You are paying more than what you normally would in exchanges. If you live near ATMs then sure but there aren't that many outside of London afaik. They also charge a premium, again possibly because of the privacy factor.

Same here. Norwich Festival tonight and apparently they've got tightrope walker whose going to cross over the market from Jarrold's to The Forum.

there is literally one in the centre of Manchester, my city. How is LocalBitcoins? You send a bank transfer and get a wallet ID via email or something?

>I know that place and live nearby, surreal.
>Same here. Norwich Festival tonight

kek, I live in Norwich and work with the NNF. Come at me bro. Norwich /biz user meetup tonight at the festival launch, yea? We can all wear our guy fawkes masks.

jk I am basically a chad irl and will be out drinking and smoking tonight then hitting the clubs. You boys come along, though.

OP - I have used localbitcoins and bitbargain, both are good. Coinbase offers a £6000 weekly debit card limit as well but it's slightly more expensive overall.

Bitbargain is my favourite and super easy to use, if you vaguely understand crypto etc. That and local bitcoins are both P2P so you will just be making a bank transfer to another private individual and your bank has no idea it's crypto related. If it's a large amount (say over 10k) they may freeze it and you'll need to phone them to say it's OK, but that's a separate issue.

Happy to help more if you want other details, can chat somewhere.

>How is LocalBitcoins? You send a bank transfer and get a wallet ID via email or something?

LBTC and BitBargain use escrow so that when you lock into a trade deal, the seller's coins get locked up until you send the money, then the seller authorises their release onwards to you. They are then stored in an on-site wallet until you withdraw them (which you should do promptly). They've been around for years and I've had some issues with them (genuine payment problems etc) which all got resolved neatly and properly. I think they're good sites and the sellers have ratings etc.

nice, thanks mate I will hit LBTC soon.

damn, Norwich sounds buzzin. Fuck all going on here in Cheshire lol. Cheers I will check out Bitbargain too. I tried Coinbase and got shafted by my bank as it told me they don't allow any dealings with Crypto exchanges. Fucking jewry I tell ya. So yeah, I need bank transfers to individuals really, so Bitbargain sounds ideal.

>I tried Coinbase and got shafted by my bank as it told me they don't allow any dealings with Crypto exchanges.
This shite is not ok

I use NatWest and have no issue with coinbase. Other credit cards in the past have blocked it, though.

Natwest was the only one I used, but had to leave for other reasons. They royaly shafted me at my local branch and on customer services. My town has had a bunch of complaints about the people that work there and everytime I phoned up, they let me down. Tried to authorise a transfer to family member for 12K once and the phone limit was 10K. I said can you authorize if I give you more info. They said fine, but go through security. They kept me on the phone for two hours and the last security question was what date did you open your account. I failed and they wouldn't even allow me a second guess at the date. Had to drive 6 miles to the branch to do it in person. Never fucking again.

What do you think of the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre?

I wonder who could be behind this behaviour?

I've wondered about the difficulties in getting back into fiat at some point, could do with some advice.

>What do you think of the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre?

dead against it, mate.

>I've wondered about the difficulties in getting back into fiat at some point, could do with some advice.

> getting back into fiat

srs though I think you can do it on coinbase alright, but I have never tried it, lol.

Norwich is far from buzzing but it's cool in it's own way I guess. Underground music scene is getting better - we're now only 15 years behind the rest of the country.

I'm not on Coinbase. I've used Bittylicious then Binance. i wonder how many Link holders there are in Norwich? Wouldn't be surprised if it's just you, me and my workmate who buckled under my endless shilling at the start of last year.

>coinbase and back to fiat
It is hard with cojnbase. Had to set up an e-bank account that had a EU based account for euroes. Then you have to transfer crypto for euro and send it to that EU account. Then you have to convert the euro into GBP in that e-bank in order to get it to your daily bank. The fees mount up.

Better to take the crypto and sell it on a peer to peer basis with other uses for cash in hand or a bank transfer. Meet at a cafe with a potential lunatic and have them verify the contents of a wallet and chat while the transfer goes through is literally less stressful.

Google coinbase pro/gdax revolut uk. You make a transfer to your revolut account, exchange to euros then transfer to coinbase. Takes about 2 business days in total usually.

I do not hold LINK, kek. Never have.

I know a few other cryptofags in Norwich but they don't really know about /biz.

I thought Revolut allowed the coins only to be kept in their own app?

Damn, I thought I was the only Norwich user in Jow Forums.
I think it's a good thing for convenience and environmental purposes from a personal point of view. From a business point of view tho, I don't think it affects businesses that much as the majority of shops are in the shopping centers or narrow streets anyway. It would be hell to allow anyone drive on them. Also good if you want to get a bus or taxi as they are the only ones allowed on the main street.
You already got your answer but listen, get a virtual bank account if you want to still use Coinbase or other exchanges, you will save a lot more on fees. The most popular ones seem to be Revolut and some other which I forgot the name but starts with M, I think. Transfer some money to the virtual bank and then transfer the funds to Coinbase. It shouldn't take long, especially since you aren't even buying huge amounts.

Metrobank are the only UK bank who don't give a fuck about crypto transactions as long as they're in Europe.

srs are you guys autistic retards or actually alright? Would be up for a couple of beers some time to shoot the shit, not many people //understand//

I've only met one user before and he was a fucking NORMIE (like me)

Europoor here, I had no problems with SEPA from coinbase so far.

AML trigger is 10k euro, at lest I hope.

>Transfer some money to the virtual bank and then transfer the funds to Coinbase
virtual banks gave me the most shit for Coinbase.

we are all alright here user, Jow Forums is full of ambitious chads. The other boards are mostly scum.

I'm planning to get chainlink soon, just saving money to buy in huge bulks so you can make that 3 soon. I tried to convince my friend into it but meh, he's skeptical about crypto since he cannot afford any losses.
And what music scene are you talking about? The scene in Norwich seems pretty dead in general desu. I wish I could find some underground rock bands or something

Despite spending time on here I haven't caught the autism so I'm able to handle social interaction without pissing myself and staring into the corner of the room while humming.

When and where?

The electronic scene is starting find it's feet; Cosmic Print Jar, 808, Space Studios. Waterfront is good for rock but I'm don't know the underground rock scene at all desu.

discord . gg

MexxKJ

come to that discord and we'll talk

Same for the other Norwich fag ^

let's pinky promise not to torture each other for our Ledgers, though, ok?

upstairs in Karma or gtfo

It depends what you mean by retarded autistic. I'm decent looking and dress well but I like to spend most of the time inside and don't like to socialise very much although I can socialise well, just don't expect me to talk too much if we haven't much in common. I have only one friend who I get drunk with around the city and do shit with like going to concerts, etc.

kek, sounds like most of us. I mean, people prob think you're semi normal, right, you're just crazy sociable. I have to drink a lot to socialise.

How old are you fags btw, I'm 32 oldcel.

Tonight?

I use cashapp and withdraw to a different cold wallet address each time, if you buy $500 worth you will receive $493. If you were to use a bitcoin atm you would receive 440-450.

not bad actually. Is that US only?

I think so, unfortunately.

You transfer the money to revolut, then transfer from revolut account to coinbase. Unlike your current bank, revolut doesn't stop you making the transaction. Et voila.

But if you have a friend in the US you can send money to their cashapp, have them buy bitcoin and send to you

I've got a year on two on you.

Actually just checked and it is getting rolled out in th eUK, so that'll be ideal.

why not just buy through Revolut itself. Shit rates?

Sweet, just remember to never re use a public address, withdraw to a different one each time.

>30 yrs old boomers
I'm only 24 and half but probably more boomer than zoomer tho

kek, I'm 27. Is anyone on this board over the age of 35?

cool, will do, thanks mate.

Norwich fags, join the discord I posted above ^^^ and I'll find you

get a better bank. go to that bank and demand to withdraw your entire balance in cash. tell them it's because they are dictating what you can and can't do with your money and you're going to another bank if they want to know why. I'm serious even if you have like six figures go demand it in cash. That's how it would go in the U.S. at least, and they would be begging to let you complete the transaction and remain a customer at that point unless there was some freak situation
