ODP climbed a bit today, but it's still a bargain at this price. Office Depot is going to be the Amazon-killer of the office supplies world soon enough.
Schwab desktop client has new tools showing me how I lost so much lonely! Neat!
Took like 10 years to double my S&P index, and 10 days to give back like 30% of it!
Better. Fucking. Not.
Dominic Stewart
Office depot was killed by Amazon. Inverse Jow Forums never fails
Nathaniel Sanders
That's not a good argument. You could say that for kind of products. Second, Office Depot's big money is and will continue to be made off of businesses, not individual consumers. Third, Alibaba is partnering with Office Depot, so soon Office Depot very well may become Chinese Amazon, office supplies/computer services edition.
Lincoln Lewis
Hm. Interdasting. Did not consider business bulk buys.
Nathan Peterson
>how many takes did it take for you to draw that curve in paint, you filthy pinko? however long it took to type this shit out pastebin.com/7tAcCgLz
There's a very reasonable hope Office Depot shares could grow by at least ~50% this year. Can you say the same thing about Amazon?
Here's the 5-year price chart off Robinhood. The top point is mid-$9s. In the past year, it has broken $3 three times for an extended period of time, and once more for a shorter period. Like LCI, it's an undervalued stock with lots of room to grow, though unlike LCI, ODP is currently a profitable company.
I have QQQ calls that exp on 5/17 and 7/19 I need to sell the 5/17 when we gap up 1.5% at open I'm confident because it will bogg all the bear small specs like you
Been fucking around with options and lost $2k. where is the divvies guy? need you to teach me those gains monthly, want those passive income gains.
Austin Rodriguez
This is priced in, everyone important already knows. Your discovery is decades too late
Gabriel Lewis
why buy factors of production that degrade so easily when you can rent them. that is the foundation of capitalism. the renting out of the human body.
Kayden Turner
Not divided fren, but for me the following have been comfy. A little monthly, a little quarterly, always adding.

the critical threshold, user, is the point at which a downturn soon follows. if it was truly priced in things would be a lot more bearish. The thing you need to understand about the stock market is that while all the stocks are efficiently priced relative to one another, more or less, the absolute price level of stocks will never be appropriate to the level of risk in stocks as a whole. This is because the demand for stocks isn't easily changed by the risk involved, it's more controlled by the level of savings in the economy.
Stop advertising your shitty YouTube channel enjoy a few days off :)

>shill divvie stocks >doesnt shill F F price can fluctuate, hovers between 8 and 12. Plus getting in at 8 gives you 6% divvies. 15c quarterly. Can hodl for divvies, then sell when stock rises. Wait and repeat
Luis Butler
Bad options? Or trade war raping your semiconductor shares?

T is your Divvy King. Today the market gave you a gift. He shat down to almost $30 before rebounding at the end. At 30.00 the Yield is almost kissing 7%, regular is 6.7 - 6.5. $2.04 a share x 100 shares. $31 is the going rate for T right now or a little under.
149 T babies held for 29 - 30 years will earn you 30+k in income if you Drip.
James Sanders
Have you tried selling options instead of buying options? If you keep losing money buying options, surely the reason is that options are slanted in favor of the seller, and so if you sell options, you're bound to win. I haven't done any research into this because that's for nerds, but it seems like selling puts is more or less printing money for no risk, assuming the company doesn't go bankrupt or something.
Carson Howard
Not even either one! If it were semis at least I'd know my bags would probably bounce back.
I should have done more research into how terrible the management was at GDOT and VSTM.
GDOT slashed earnings forecast with an "investment year" type thing. But sounded so fucking glib about it, I don't know how to describe. I think they have potential upside but the CEO's attitude worries me.
Insiders had been been selling but because it was part of an automatic plan, I thought it wasn't such a bad sign.
I wonder if sales will continue now or if they had it set up so they could tank prices right after insider selling. AND now they've said they'll be doing buybacks!!!
Is this shit illegal?! Help me SMG!
Ian King
Seller and buyer can both lose with calls. Puts the problem is that it's really easy to just get forced to buy a worthless stock
Jace Miller
The sooner you buy, the less up front capital you need (and fewer shares) and thanks to the longer you hold the larger the income will be after 30 - 40 years. Ex: You buy T at age 20. You need fewer shares and less money than some dude who gets in at age 35 will in order to get the same amount of income after 30 years.
Jayden Powell
>Seller and buyer can both lose with calls. covered calls yes, naked calls no
never heard of this before, a lot to learn. where do I start? using robinhood rn. best broker that offers all this u mentioned?
I also have been matching my company's 401k which is frowned upon by most of the people here.
Asher Thomas
>down 11%
jesus christ, man you have no reason to be making as many "WAAA FUCK I'M LOSING ALL MY MONEY THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST WEEK OF MY ADULT LIFE" posts as you have you just need to change your strategy, and you can make that back fairly easily
>I also have been matching my company's 401k which is frowned upon by most of the people here. huh? You should ALWAYS do that, it's essential
Aaron Wilson
Posting from last thread.
Position I'm holding.
5800 shares of SOXS.
Nice bull trap today. They tried putting perfume on shit by calling the failed negotiations as "constructive". They sent the Chinese Vice back to China with tariffs. China came out of this weak and they know it and they're not going to just sit there and take it.
This weekend, expect the Chinese to respond with their own set of tariffs, much harsher ones. Hell, we might even see Apple get kicked out of the country this weekend.
Semis lead the way to the 4 month bullrun, now they're going to lead the way down.
Prepare your anus for this coming week.
Pretty well. I bought TVIX at the top of the market and made bank. This market isn't moving on technicals anymore. Just pure geopolitics.
Xi can't afford to look weak. If he doesn't hit back, he's going to get clowned on with Winnie the Pooh memes in mainland China and people will start rethinking the President for Life thing.
The US has been fucking with Huawei a lot lately, I suspect Xi might finally return the favor and ban a US company from operating in Mainland China. Maybe cancel that TESLA plant, maybe kick Apple to the curb.
The clap back is coming, and I'm well positioned for it.
Blake Green
I guess I've been doing it half right aside from gambling money into options. teach me more. I'll be focusing on investing and stop buying options.
Brandon King
thanks, KO is a solid pick too right? could do the same with either? would like to have dividends giving me at least 3000 per month in the future.
Ryder Campbell
Staples killed ODP long ago. Staples has the lions share of the corporate business.
I don't think Mr. T'S "T-baby" strategy seems particularly well-advised. Companies are not obligated to continue paying dividends, and what if you have your retirement savings all in T, and AT&T suddenly falls on hard times and stops paying their dividend or goes bankrupt? I'm sure can find a number of index funds with acceptably-high dividend payouts that would give you a greater degree of diversification.
Isaiah Martinez
can someone explain to me why i need 25,000 in my account to daytrade options? if i buy a contract and sell it a few hours later, what the fuck does 25,000 have to do with it?
Ian Richardson
Funny enough, Staples and Office Depot wanted to merge, but some know-it-all judge blocked the merger on pretext of anti-trust laws. Yet they do nothing about Amazon. What a country.
Levi Richardson
basically this is how they stop young men from checking out of society
Chase Mitchell
did you forget the constructive talks? Golden bull run is back baby
Jeremiah Morales
I have absolutely no idea why I didn't buy cronos when SMG was pinkwojak posting about it. Would've been a great entry point.
There's only one idiot around here who frowns upon things like free money. Absolutely max your 401k match.
Glad you still like my image frenulum :^) 11% is huge. If you ever get a job, you'll discover that an 11% pay cut or pay raise is tremendous.
Also, RH isn't my only brokerage, I'm losing money all over the place.
Ohhhh you got on the gdot hype train yea bummer man I myself was thinking of going on board before the tank expecting a QCOM moment but whew dodged that bullet just play options dude helps get your money back with some interest and earnings season has opened up tons of opportunity If you got the cash and strong hands put a call on CGC for 49 break even price or a put on BYND and you should make some back to cut your 800 loss down to maybe 500-400 otherwise you’re stuck holding some baggies like the rest of us T. IQ bagholder (but I know it’ll bounce back...I think)
Jack Morris
the idea is that if you're putting 25,000 into your brokerage account, you're less likely to be a clueless retard who will lose all his money that certainly isn't the case, tho
you and I both know that losing 11% on robinhood and getting an 11% pay cut are entirely different things
Michael Davis
i would think market hours would accomplish that goal
Asher Howard
you can still trade futures.
Austin Morales
3k per month means 36k annually. You're gonna need 60k shares of F.
Easton Lewis
that makes more sense but they say its some bullshit about collateral.
Noah Ortiz
What hype train haha? I'm the only one who posted about it ever, and there was a lot posts that were just like: GDOT! Should I sell guys? I'm up 12%... I don't know GDOT! Hey guys is insider selling a bad sign if it's automatic? GDOT!
I hope they haven't completed their corporate buybacks yet, this baby needs to bounce.
More science recently released about galectin-3 Not only is it essential for liver fibrogenesis (cirrhotic NASH), highly correlated to the response rate of checkpoint inhibitors (immuno-oncology), an important factor in the development of endometriotic lesions (endometriosis), and associated with cognitive decline in Alzheimer's, it also is a predictor of morality/heart failure following myocardial infarction
I'm actually curious what your thoughts are on your liver and livers in general
do you actually have NASH? Have you ever known someone with liver issues?
how many minutes per day do you spend thinking about the liver and/or liver diseases?
Have you read the Uihlein letter from today?
Xavier Flores
So like whats the point of having stocks when you are older, if i had 2 million dollars to get 40k of divies a year why wouldnt i just take the 2 mill out if stocks lol
James Ross
>do you actually have NASH? Have you ever known someone with liver issues?
No, but I have a family history of mental illness
>how many minutes per day do you spend thinking about the liver and/or liver diseases?
Not many, I'm more interested in neuroscience
>Have you read the Uihlein letter from today? Yes, it was nice to see him talk about how he's committed to making sure the company succeeds and that he's up to date on all the science I keep posting about, but other than that it was just more talk about the RO
This market is rigged. Bitcoin is going straight to 100k. I should've just kept my cash in btc. Got in the market in early October, lost so much money.
I'll sell you some calls then. The only office depot near me just downsized, and is typically vacant. Office depot is more likely to go out of business than return to $9.
Seeing that your due diligence is looking at the 5y chart and expecting past performance to indicate future value, I can only assume you're too young to remember circuit city. You'd have bought that dip I'm certain
Luke King
This, but unironically.
The more actively I “invest,” the worse my returns are.
>still waiting on my limit buy of BTC at $5059 to trigger
Sebastian Lee
>larping as a quant and day trading makes you lose money
wow.......shocking
Adrian Anderson
>The more actively I “invest,” the worse my returns are.
yep, that's how the market is why do you think I just hold all the time
Aren't you up like 200 dollars total or something?

Eh... I think it has a lot to do with how I started off very cautious, and then the better I do the less cautious I become.
But I’m learning lessons. When to sell. How generally it’s safer to sell before an ER because that could trigger a selloff. Management is just as, if not more important than the product. Be very careful about selling or DCAing in a selloff.
Hunter Sullivan
It was a good letter to help explain the rights offering in a more simple, personable way as well as get a good summary of what is being funded. I think it was a case of having the first level not quite touch on the things a retail investor isn't already glued into. It was great.
I also think it was a last warning to people to maintain their relative share ownership before a buyout I think is coming in the next few months. Not necessary obviously but a good idea if they can afford it.
The importance of the financial independence from the RO can't be understated. They have time and money on their side every bit as much as the buyer to stay healthy. They want the drug, so they have to pay it's worth. No bullshit power plays.
DU gets a larger position. Insider buying on a massive level. Tutes accumulating.
It might suck being left out of the loop but I've seen nothing so far that makes me believe a buyout couldn't be announced at any moment. They have to give every public impression they are doing business as usual.
Jason Morris
The best way to make money is to not lose it. Be frugal and don't waste money buying things. If you buy conservative mutual funds you will see the effects of compound interest working for you.
Joshua Clark
Reminder you've never had a job, you're 18, you can't drive, and you've never invested your own money
Carter Roberts
>I think it has a lot to do with how I started off very cautious, and then the better I do the less cautious I become.
this is true for everyone, imo once they've started to figure things out a bit, they think they know a lot more than they actually do and then start making dumb decisions the reason I prefer to just hodl and DCA is because I know that I'll make a lot of mistakes and lose money if I actually try to actively trade
yep, all of that
>Tutes accumulating
also keep in mind that if an institution fully subscribes their rights, they can oversubscribe as many shares as they want to so a tute holding 1 share could hypothetically oversubscribe the entire offering (the RO is a way for institutions to accumulate without driving the price up in the process)
>but I've seen nothing so far that makes me believe a buyout couldn't be announced at any moment
True The fact that they're doing an RO doesn't mean they aren't still in negotiations, not being able to raise cash themselves and fund their own trials would give them a lot less leverage in price negotiations with big pharma companies Uihlein mentioned in his first open letter that he's "growing impatient with the perception that we lack the wherewithal to launch and manage a phase 3 clinical trial" I think the RO is also intended to show big pharma that GALT can raise money without having to resort to dilution and fucking over shareholders
you can say whatever you want about me, it's not worth my time to respond to this kind of thing
>it's not worth my time to respond to this kind of thing You replied to me for 3 hours and i was threatening to sue you over 10 dollars
Leo Sullivan
Sure.
VTSAX STACK IT UP
I always have 10k in something like that, 13 right now because I took 3.4 out ahead of this week, not knowing how bad things would get.
Always have some kind of passive investment going, I should probably switch my Roth IRA to that but I’ve been trying to snatch up dividend cheapies for that one.
Managed to get MRK, MO, and DIS in the Roth at a good price basis, still looking for something to do with the few thousand I have left in there, fingers crossed we get some cheapies.
Really pissed I bought MRK and not UNH I’m there though. UNH was such a cheapie earlier this year, and I only managed to grab 1 share.
Sucks when my bad decisions outpace my many good decisions.
Lucas Hill
good times
Cameron Johnson
Ahaha that was a good day (except for he part when i decided to stick with VSTM, experiment with trading around a position, got fucked hard.)
These are all good points and should humble you a bit, frendy.
Angel Carter
It really was funny. I was laughing my ass off
Juan Price
isn't the limit for suing people 20 dollars?
Robert Evans
It was complete bullshit. Its almost worth me going back and finding the thread. It was all a joke at one point i said i had the police on the phone and that pendulum who's real name was "jerome martinez", had scammed many people with his pump and dump scam on 4channel.
Eli Russell
lol
Carter Bell
I might oversubscribe as well but not sure how much. I use Vanguard and so far they only have a template that I can choose to 'buy' but no information available to do it with.
Are you able to purchase it already?
Matthew Phillips
I think you're supposed to email them if you want to participate The RO is mostly intended to incentivise institutions to invest and minimize dilution to the average shareholder (and also not ruin the stock price) If you're retail, it might be better to just buy more at current prices warosu.org/biz/thread/S13582598#p13586201
Nathan Cox
>Are you able to purchase it already?
Nope, not yet
Andrew Reed
there is something popping up on robinhood for the rights offering, I'm just not sure how it works. and if the rights offering is just around the current price anyway, whats the point?
Aiden Watson
>too many people charging -_-; THIS. if they don't do something about cockteasing "the-full-uncensored-version-is-in-my-patreon" faggots soon they will lose more and more viewers. the site didn't get to where it is by people posting previews, forbid that shit and make it about people that actually want to share their art instead. support artists if you want more but don't buy paywalled stuff, only encourages more cockteasing.
censorship is a serious threat too. already a lot of people are just linking to the uncensored version below in the description, eventually pixiv becomes more of an index and after that it will get more and more dead because people start checking the source sites instead. pixiv need to get on top of that, move servers out of japan and start a russian dummy company or something. find loopholes quick because more and more japs are realizing every day that there are non-jap sites where they can upload uncensored stuff instead.
also, the new view system is horrible on pixiv. serious downgrade. no thumbnails, no overview. loads slow as shit, especially 100+ submissions. you get different behaviour from single image submissions and multiple image submissions (new tab or in-page-loading while before both had new tab). who likes in-page-loading that pushes other content around anyway, it sucks. also, now you need to scroll-wheel-click the image right in the middle of the screen or you move up/down on the page, very annoying. whoever designed this new view system clearly aren't using the site themselves.
For typical retail, it doesn't make much of a difference If you have a big position like , it's probably worth it for the sake of getting warrants (price per unit will be 25 day VWAP) Main point is to incentivise institutions to accumulate and make sure the average shareholder has the opportunity to prevent any dilution of their shares (not necessarily the loss of their money, since the share price will be either neutrally or positively affected by it (from the injection of new capital by institutions accumulating)
Cooper Richardson
I'll be sure to let you know when ODP breaks $3 again.
