HOW

How do I store my Link on Mist or Metamask?

Give me real answers. I'll send 0.1 ETH to the best explanation.

just withdraw to your eth address, it's an erc20 token

The LINK in my wallet won't get 'mixed up' with ETH?

What if the wallet isn't built to show LINK? Will I still see it?

it won't get 'mixed', erc20 is a token standard for ethereum, these tokens are owned by eth addresses.
>Will I still see it?
yes you will see it in metamask, not sure about mist.
It doesn't matter if you see it, it's still going to be there

just keep it on binance retard

Yea, just send it to your ETH address.
Use etherscan and the section "Tokens" to check if they arrived :)

DL metamask
Save the seed words somewhere you feel safe.
You now have a wallet to transfer to.
Add Link to the wallet by going to
>menu
>add token
>custom token
>paste the link token address, and now your link should show up.

look, this is binance eth address (one of)
etherscan.io/address/0x4e9ce36e442e55ecd9025b9a6e0d88485d628a67
look at 'tokens'. These are tokens of binance users, stored at this eth address

Ethereum is just a platform for Erc20 tokens. Like how windows is a platform for programs like word or excel.

Using your Ethereum address, you can withdraw any Erc20 token, in any combination. Just like having multiple programs on Windows or apps on Android. They will all stay separate. In fact, it's your only option, as this is what Ethereum was designed for and what Erc20 tokens we're designed for.

In order to send tokens FROM an Ethereum address, a minute amount of Ethereum from the same address is consumed. This is by design, and is why vitalik is quoted as saying ethereum is meant to be used as fuel for the network, not as currency.

Some people feel safer withdrawing tokens to an Ethereum address with no ether in it, as an exchange withdrawal fee will compensate the exchange for the ether used to send the transaction to your empty ether address. Thus someone would have to first deposit ether into said address before moving the tokens. I personally don't see much benefit here, either your keys are secure or they are not. I just list this for the purpose of illustration on how the system works.

Myetherwallet is a good place to go for an address, and works with metamask. Or a paper wallet generator if you really want to be paranoid. I personally use myetherwallet with a ledger, as they are also compatible. Obviously it would be wise to avoid doing this on a computer you can't trust, however if that were the case your exchange account info would already be compromised.

at metamask you can add any token to be visible. anyway you can check your address on ethscan

Additionally for the use of metamask

Send a small amount first after you go through the process if it makes you uneasy. Once you have seen the successful transaction, send the rest.

This is clearly getting people to store their tokens in metamask so that you and whoever you coordinate with can try to phish.

Metamask is not a good option.

please explain

Just download ENJIN wallet it's easy to use for Low IQ fags

I don't know about the phishing part, I'm giving the benefit of the doubt over to assuming it is someone who has always stored on an exchange, and now with the latest cryptopia exit and binance lock down and hack is wanting to control their own funds. Possibly even more so after this latest pump bringing some faith back to the market. I prefer to assume most people are honest while also not giving said people the opportunity to screw me. Risk management is the best skill in life.

As for the metamask, I agree entirely. It's still a hot wallet to me. Has no place in crypto security, they are "fun money" / "walkabout money" for ease of access. Not much better and in many cases worse than exchanges. It's fucking simple. No hardware wallet? Paper wallet or full node on dedicated cheapo laptop. Avoid the temptation to watch midget porn on said laptop.

The midget porn part wasn't just for the security.

hot wallets as they may be, i unironically hold about 6 figures of crypto through metamask (not my whole stack, but still)
stop browsing dubious sites. stop posting your life on social media. stop downloading executables off the internet
it's nigh impossible to get phished if you don't behave like a total idiot
hacking scaremongering comes from people behaving like complete idiots and refusing to accept their own idiocy

Which you can do with faith, obviously having the technological background to fully understand what actions need to be taken in order for said phishing/viree attacks. Most people, including the youth that is supposed to be tech savvy, click on dumb shit with no comprehension of what actions open them up to potential security breaches.

Without knowing said stranger on the internet, I will not make the assumption of comprehension and instead will outline the simple but effective answer. I have no problem taking the time helping someone secure their funds for free, loss of coins though lack of understanding or exchange hacks is one of the biggest plagues of crypto right now and a huge barrier to adoption. So yes, though hot wallet style options can be used safely for some who are knowledgeable, I do not advocate them to the random internet stranger just as I don't go around telling people they can build their own house just so I can watch and see what percentage die in a house fire of their own making due to my sometimes-true advice.

Though that would make for an entertaining data metric to aquire

I sent my LINK to metamask but it isn't showing.

>>Add New Wallet
>>Select Token
>>CHAINLINK not found.

I know the tokens are there but I can't access them with Metamask.

Any other wallet suggestions?

If Metamask doesn't support LINK, is it correct that I can't use it to send my stinkies?

What about other wallets?

mist is dead.

Go to the custom add part and paste the link main address in there.

etherscan.io/address/0x514910771af9ca656af840dff83e8264ecf986ca

That link has the main link address.

Just paste the link address in the spot that says 'token contract address' and the rest will fill in.

Good post for mouthbreathers.

Thanks, mate

>breathes loudly

Thanks.
