HURR MY SHITTY ERC20 TOKEN IS GOING TO CHANGE THE WORLD

>HURR MY SHITTY ERC20 TOKEN IS GOING TO CHANGE THE WORLD

...meanwhile, those of us who have a fucking clue know that blockchains cannot scale. Get it you disgusting fat peasants.

XRPL scales

Shut up Warren you cringey söifaggot

Bitcoin doesn't.

But that is just one blockchain.

Historically, how many times has someone said “this technology will never X” and been insanely BTFO? These comments are unironically bullish.

Bitcoin scales enough for the rich to move big amounts of value, and for banks to settle big intraday amounts.
Plebs will buy coffee with whatever shitty system gets crammed down their throat.

Explain scaling blockchains to a brainlet

Transactions/second.

>Blockchains do not scale
...The essence of scaling is decentralized servers/nodes/whatever. This makes no sense from a technical standpoint.
If he's talking BTC then yes, it didn't age well. It is however a 10 year old project that created crypto and was made by a completely unknown individual that didn't expect his creation to threaten the (((economy as we know it))). Ethereum and moderately newer coins do not suffer from that problem - and if they ever do, then someone else will step in and replace them.

This person knows nothing about CompSci or economics.

you cant scale blockchain because block confirmation times and because there is a limit on amount of transactions per block, therefore when everyone wants to get on a block fees get insanely high. Its like it was designed to move giants amounts of $, not stupid small transactions for buying a coffee. Can hardly be called a currency

cant scale blockchain while keeping decentralization is the issue

> Its like it was designed to move giants amounts of $

there's your hint where it's headed

>scale
get a load of this faggot. who the fuck cares if btc scales as long as it'll be worth hundreds of thousands in a few years. does the black lotus mtg card scale? does a fucking picasso scale?

>know that blockchains cannot scale.
just like how dial up was so slow and couldn't scale? just like how personal computers didn't have any processing power and couldn't scale?

Came here to post this.

Bitcoin was an experiment. It wasn't supposed to be the end. It was meant to be a catylist, it worked very well in both of those regards. Superior systems have came and settled in.

dial up is slow and doesn't scale though

you're not using dial up though, are you?

Lmao your twitter avatar is a clown pepe kill yourself

just like the internet would never be able to handle video streaming on demand
99% of people are prisoners of their own limited imagination. Do not listen to them

Exscudo (EON) will change the world for the better.

Don't be a cuck and buy up today!

ETH will scale fine when people give up on the currency meme and use it for what its good for, smart contracts

> since 2017 I start talks with blockchains do not scale
> I don't get invited to conferences often
Well yes, if your leading contribution is really retarded and obvious shit on the level of:
> we need more websites than microsoft.com on the internet
Of course no one wants you around.
It amazes me that these retards out themselves better than anyone else ever could.

You cannot scale blockchains whilst keeping all of their security/decentralization/immutability features intact. So it's a trade-off. The Bitcoin devs, for example, are unwilling to compromise on security/decentralization/immutability and have decided to find indirect ways to scale Bitcoin (lightning network for example). This decision was controversial and a minority segment of the Bitcoin community felt it was the wrong move.

Scaling is almost always a difficult problem in tech and business. Blockchains are no exception and face difficulties peculiar to the way they work and the way these protocols interface with the human parties that run them.

This. Blockchain is in it's infancy. Also I have to wonder about the enthusiasm some people have for not believing in something. It's almost as if there are people who understand the basics, but still aren't invested

You're right, nobody uses dial up. Just like nobody will use bitcoin in the future. The protocol itself (TCP/HTTP or in this case proof-of-work) does not determine whether the technology built upon it can scale. There is a lot of research ongoing in the space, and it's clear that it's possible to scale proof-of-work, the question is now how long until an implementation/mainnet.

basically it goes like this.
decentralized = slow
centralized = fast
no one will use slow pieces of shit, and no one will use centralized pieces of shit, therefore crypto is a meme scam

internet is decentralized and used to be slow as fuck. now it's fast.

Iota scales. The transactions are feeless and the tangle grows faster the more people that use it. No one wants to hear it, but it’s the truth.

Honk honk

Internet is extremely centralized with google, apple, etc and will only get more centralized over time unless web3 is developed

you have a choice to not use them.

cope

except those things scaled as tech got better. Since 2008, broadband speeds are like 100 times faster, HDD storage is like 10x cheaper and processing on CPU's is like 8 times faster.... And yet.... The block limit has still stayed at 1 MB because "muh tech cant scale".

Blame core. Maybe they didnt have to increase the size to an autistic 1 GB like bcash faggots but they should have increased the size to at least 5 MB. We would have had no 2017 $20 fees if they had done that. and the fees would not be so high right now either.

They can also add schnorr and increase scalability by ~70% with literally ZERO centralisation tradeoff yet they havent done that either. Fuck blockstream. And fuck the faggots that maintain the btc repo. This is why a lot of the "new" money (VC's, high risk hedgefunds etc.) all goes into eth and not bitcoin.

>le clownpill avatar

>build website on ETH
>each action costs $0.22 in gas
wow, very innovative system you guys got hehehe, and in the future the tx cost will go down right? the way btc used to be $0.01 to send and now its $5, how it went down??
