Is there a better ROI on anything greater than making yourself attractive? I can't think of one. Maybe acquiring knowledge but all the gains are in a very long, skewed tail where as becoming attractive pays from the minute you start, compounds with effort and pays dividends your entire life. Even in the worst case scenario, you can just pay an upfront cost for plastic surgery and collect by having an easier life. I wish humanity was wired in a way to where grooming yourself wasn't the best use of time in all but fringe cases but it is. Reminds me of the Beautiful Ones from that mouse universe experiment.
