The social aspect of VR is way better than you think it is. It genuinely feels like going out clubbing and drink with your friends. Its especially good in terms of getting a real experience that is not possible with skype. Its on another level by far.

The social aspect is insanely better than you seem to think. You probably played some dinky fucking FPS or shitty 4 dollar RPG and thought that was the experience. The real experience is when you get into more involve social circles and see the sub culture first hand. Full body trackers and high quality avatars for example. Also its an endless pit of infinite content for streaming. It will probably stay a subculture for awhile but god damn is it better than most people are even ready for.

I have psvr and there are some great games for it. However, I can only play for like an hour max until the headset becomes uncomfortable, but i have a big ass head so that could be why.

VR will likely always fill a small niche for enthusiasts(like yourselves) the general public, however, gives ZERO fucks. Chads and Stacys dont want to pretend to go clubbing, they want to go clubbing. VR socializing only appeals to aspies. VR vidya is going to be a tiny market. It might not seem like it to you, but most people dont like being COMPLETELY isolated from the real world. They enjoy their escapism but VR headsets add an extra layer of of complexity, and inconvenience that doesnt make it appealing for more than a few uses to most people. For hobby drones, it actually provides real utility, which is why that will be its most saturated market. Vidya is a normie hobby now, it wont see much adoption, just some hardcore enthusiasts.
But dont listen to me. What does the market think? This shit has been out for a while now, and its actually pretty developed already. How much support for VR have you seen? There were a few major games that supported it in the beginning(Skyrim, Batman, etc). Now, there is still support for it, but the advertising for VR development is practically non-existent. It already failed to launch.

Its definitely a lot more than that, in terms of socializing I will often hang out with people who are singing and playing guitar in ways where it feels like going to a show. They can stand on stage. There is dancing and creativity. People draw pictures together. There are musicians and streamers, often with large followings that I have hung out with or met causally. It fills in a hell of a lot of gaps that I think are missing in most peoples lives these days.
