I dont own either coin, so I am going to give you an impartial perspective.

Seems interesting, but their whitepaper bothers me. Their plan for adoption of their Korean smart city decentralized nervous system is... street food vendors? What the fuck? I mean maybe, but this just seems odd. Andre Cronje has cred in crypto but none of his other projects that hes worked on amount to anything either. Seems like a smart guy, but I dont really know much of his work. Comparing it to MATIC is an obvious shill tactic, its not doing anywhere near as good as MATIC did. Looking at the charts, I expect it to start dumping in the next 1-2 days. Probably nothing major, but likely back down to $0.012, maybe $0.011.

Shit team, like street shit. I generally dont trust anything made by all Pajeets, which is why I missed a 7x on MATIC. However, their use case is interesting. Its hard to say how much higher it will go, because it has been soaring so far, and its only been out for a little while. Backing by Coinbase and Binance is promising, but I dont know how high this can realistically go. At this point I could see it pulling another 3x from here, or dumping to 50 sats. Its so early and this projects success took a lot of people by surprise, so its a bit of a wildcard. Either way, I would not consider it a long term hold. Ethereum 2.0(about a year and a half away) will likely cause MATIC to dump. It might not wait until 2.0 is released either, all it takes is one big announcement from Vitalik.

I would say MATIC might be worth the risk. I typically play things a little safer, so I wont be buying, but that doesnt mean its a bad investment.
Fantom is not a good buy right now. They are announcing really minor shit in a desperate attempt to attract buyers, and its barely working. Its entirely possible it could go to the moon in the long term, but there will likely be a few major dumps before it does anything worthwhile.

Gee where have I heard that before. Also, even if it is close, that doesnt mean it will see adoption. The ICO of the project seems a little scammy to me as well. It may have become more legit since then, but that doesnt mean me, or other investors have forgotten.

The days of platform coins pumping to huge 9 digit valuations are over. People have seen dozens and dozens of ETH killers come and go at this point and the result is always the same. Fantom will bleed to zero just like all the rest.

state channels actually scale, sidechains do not.
Besides sidechains require federations to arbitrate interchain transfer, which is centralized bs.

Matic uses plasma for interchain transfer, and generally speaking interchain transfer is governed by the delegators elected by the dPoS scheme. Sidechain absolutely do scale, Loom can reach thousands of tx/sec easily. Payment channels are trash because they require random people to open channels for you and thus inherently require trust which is antithetical to the principles of decentralized trustless currency.

It's a temporary solution. As we near more adoption we will need more and more sidechains and more and more nodes. Not sustainable.
imo the successful solution will be a hybrid between state channels and side chains. State channels could easily be initiated in a decentralized way. The main obstacle on the state channel side is finding a game-theory consistent way to incentivize watchtowers, which in the macro-limit would converge to a blockchain solution.

Fantom is gaining lots of traction for its tech, which is a complex consensus. aBFT is not being lauded enough and the system requires lots of understanding of coding and concepts. once they demonstrate Fantom = fast, cheap, scaling and smart contracts in real world that's really where it takes off. It's a much better implementation of swirlds hashgraph. By the time you can explain to normal people why Fantom is the best evolution for crypto, people will come in packs.

Just go all in on FTM. It's got next.
