Few schools offer A levels in SA, even the rich schools usualy offer the IEB curriculum and not A-levels. At my school I did them as an optional extra. He's more likely from Zimbabwe or Malawi.

He's 100% correct, not to mention as I've already said a degree really isn't necessary and it's a gamble either way you go. Go to school and get out with a piece of paper and no experience. Go straight to working, end up in a dead end position because you don't have the knowledge necessary to advance. I went the latter way, but learned and thus advanced. Sorry you suck and can't make it in a free market.
