My parents are late-boomer NPCs, and my mom used to work beyond the hours she was paid for AND didn't even take her allowed lunch every day, thinking that if she just worked more it would pay off in "job security."
She acknowledged she didn't have any way of knowing if they even noticed or appreciated what she was doing. I always warned her that as soon as a company felt she wasn't worth what they were paying her, she'd be gone, and that they have no obligation to return the loyalty, and won't.
Guess what?
She was making about $80k and just got laid off after 10 years. The company didn't even have the decency to tell her, they just stopped paying her. They won't even respond to emails (she worked remotely). Ten years and this is the respect they give.
They haven't even asked for their equipment back, it's just sitting in her office, literally living there rent-free. Her office is being used as a free storage unit for this company that just laid her off and then insulted her.
Is this the destiny of all wagies? Boomer karma? Or just a tragedy?
Welcome to the real world you fucking NEET. Zoomer shit and hating corporations doesn't sound so bad after all, huh?
And you wonder why people are attracted to crypto upon moving the librarian dog shit. Peoppe are sick of coperations.

>80k >remote work >"Doesn't take breaks" Doesn't add up.

>she worked remotely >respect
Well what the fuck did both of you expect? If she wasn't in the building, where other coworkers could see her on a daily basis, she was far more easy to let go.

OP this is truly the destiny of anyone who doesn't work solely for themselves and their progeny. Tell your mom that times may be tough without (((money))) but she is now truly free... to run her own business.
