Opiates are not comfy at all. I use heroin for sleep after a meth binge. While the relief is welcomed, the effects are not what I would describe as "comfy" because IV heroin smacks you upside the head within minutes. That is: nausea, breaking sweat, puking, dizziness and dry mouth. After you vomit once or twice you're usually good but your reaction time becomes slow (heavy movement) and your eyes get droopy like all you want to do is slump forwards and close your eyes.
After you close your eyes time will pass quickly and you will be in a weird state of limbo (the nod) you'll start seeing crazy closed-eye visuals like you're in a fast-forward dream.
You'll itch uncontrollably and fade in-and-out of consciousness in 1-5 minute intervals. Any music you have on will sound terrible (you won't be paying attention). If you light a cigarette you'll forget to smoke until it's all gone. Then you light another one and forget about it too.
If you're sitting at the computer and trying to read something it's impossible... your eyes are unable to follow text. If you speak your voice will be really nasal and high pitched so you cannot socialize.

Codeine, tramadol and oxycodone are the only exception to this rule. As you can take high doses and the nod will not overwhelm you unless you really want to.

I'm only talking about the reality of IV heroin, not all opioids, but you are right in the sense that I don't use it much don't have fucked-up tolerance where you're injecting half grams... a gram will sit with me between 2-3 weeks because my primary drug is meth

if it's having those effects on you you shouldn't be using them unless you wanna die soon. i've always felt comfy with opiates so far, haven't had heroin though. also, what say is true. i've been sober for 14 months now, the first 6 months were pretty lame, but now i feel better than i've ever felt. work on yourself, do sport, educate yourself, fall in love. feels better than drugs

Dude you don't have to tell me I have been clean for over 10 months from all drugs including phenibut I was an addict for 5 years meth+heroin+GBL I went pretty far down that road until I was locked up for 2 years and forced to kick the habit... when I got out recently last year year I started using again and it was not as good as I remember... whenever I use I get immense guilt like there is no fun in it anymore... I used with my ex-gf, but even she left me after I was sentenced to prison...
now whenever I get the urge to use I just remember it's because I'm incredibly lonely and not for want of drugs.. so I quit all-together

Yeah things like oxycodone and codeine don't compare to heroin. You are right, those are comfort drugs. Even smoking H is different than IV... chasing the dragon is one of the most relaxing and addictive things you could do but IV is a whole different ball game that I wish you remain ignorant about

Poppy tea is pretty good but its just as dangerous as any opiate and sometimes difficult to dose

It will put you to sleep after a 2-3 day meth binge you just feel your body relax all over and the paranoia is gone and the tension is gone and the racing thoughts are pleasant once more you could just rest your chin on your body and drift off

Indeed, Tramadol, Codeine, and Oxy are the superior opiates. Tramadol high is the best imo. It will last into the next day and the limbo state between sleep, dreams, and heaven last for hours and hours as you nod off. Literally a 24hr high. The nodding off takes a while to even show up, it's actually energetic the first few hours.

Codeine is nice too but you have to take a pretty high dose to really feel it.

For the itching, nausea, and potential rash, some benedryl always did wonders. I haven't done opiates for a long time and I always managed to limit myself to once a week. But I was always aware of the fact that I was tightroping over an abyss. Shit is dangerous.
