I don't think you would ever have problem to exit a short position no matter how low it goes. Remember exiting a short position = buying, and people would be desperate to have you buy their shitcoin.

True, I wasn't considering that, thanks. I'm confused because I only ever shorted BTC, never altcoins, so in which form will my profit come after I nailed the thing? If BSV, I'll still need to sell it to keep my stack safe out of the shitcoin so theoretically I'm back to square one but with a larger stack of monopoly money, so low volume + risk of going to 0 would still be an issue, no? Otherwise I imagine that in a practical scenario it doesn't matter at all since even bitconnect continued to trade months after the exit scam, ergo the irrational market will save my ass
