Absolute trash, their idea consists of trusting nodes that are in the network long enough.
The nodes are unpaid.
There's no penalty to any attack at all.
It doesn't work in a decentralized setting, it's clear they expect the nodes run by them (IF) - hardcoded as bootstrap nodes - to have the power to decide everything, in effect still running the coordinator, just in an obfuscated way.
