That's just a product of the fact that compensation being more directly tied to plays. Its not like the good old days, where lesser known bands that had a cult following could sell lots of albums. Now their only option is to tour, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it cuts into their ability to produce music. Therefore you're just left with niggers being fed soundbites by their record label.
