I unironically think this is the only viable second layer solution for the normies. I know it's just a debit card still, but we would eventually transition away from measuring things in dollars as bitcoin replaces the fractional Reserve banking system we use now.
Also probably not available in the US because Boomer legislators decided Bitcoin should have a 33% Capital Gains tax on each of your "transactions" in the US.

Coinbase used to have the Shift Visa Card in the US and it got discontinued. It was with another company but it sold your crypto to pay using Visa debit. Was nice as hell in the 2017 bullrun when Bitcoin kept going up so you continually bought BTC with your paycheck and only used the Visa card when the value had gone up. Always got more for your money. I stopped using it in 2018 when BTC kept tanking but they eventually discontinued it.
