PSD2 is an open banking initiative that forces banks to allow customers to access & manage their finances through third parties (fintech or companies like Google & Facebook, Mint, or others). According to this user in the above thread, SWIFT is trying to price them out by making their APIs only available through Chainlink.

By the time it goes live, SWIFT will own 30% of the supply and the LINK price will be high enough to price out a lot of the competition. The banks will get richer in the mean time off their LINK holdings.

This was a major part of 2017/2018 biz figuring out chainlink

Sybil attacks are possible since sybil resistance requires KYC or "trustworthy" node operators. Most people won't KYC because it's antithetical to the idea of crypto itself being decentralized and "anonymous". Therefore, since most operators won't want to KYC, LINK will not be sybil resistant.

Now why does RLC make LINK obsolete in this regard? It's simple. The PoCo algorithm is so well designed that iExec's dOracles can rely on it instead of KYC for sybil resistance.

r3 is not an oracle network, it's a blockchain. May have oracle capabilities, but not everyone who wants to settle payments through SWIFT uses r3. The SWIFT gpi Link is blockchain/DLT agnostic as the guy in the video explains.
