german easily. japanese is impossible to learn at a usable level without putting in really serious effort and time and even then you are only barely communicative. payoff is also rather non-existent

As someone living in an area with a massive Japanese corporate presence and working at a Japanese company, I wish my schools would’ve taught japanese instead of fucking Spanish. Spics don’t even live around here nor do they contribute to like 50%+ of our local economy
