What are we not getting?

It is obvious. It is the final piece of the puzzle that will usher in the blockchain revolution. It is that which finally brings external data to blockchains.

And yet it crashes. Why?

Because its not complete yet.

Because most of the people buying and selling it know nothing about it.

checked. because in its current form it cannot be used for derivatives or anything important. without reputation and staking its basically just another centralized oracle. also, smart contracts are a long way from mainstream adoption. I'm still holding a fair amount but not expecting the real moon mission to start until end of this year or later. in the meantime I'm chasing pumps like Harmony so I can buy more linkies for $.50 later in the year.

because it's 200 lines of code that anyone can create

have you ever stopped to think that maybe youre actually deluded and brainwashed by years of coming here and worshipping link/sergey?
the ETH foundation has less than 1% of the supply and spent all the ICO money (16mil raised) hiring 100 devs to complete Ethereum within 1 year.
Sergey holds 65% of the supply and hired 3 devs with a 32mil dollar ICO.
maybe one day you'll realise that the vast majority of the projects that began after 2016 are ran by people exploiting the masses (you and most of biz) of dumfucks running after the crypto craze in hopes of getting rich like the actual early adopters did

equally possible and both likely unless you did YOR, then the picture is crystal clear

because it's a scam. Look at how it's virtually unknown outside of this hell hole.

Has anyone noticed how Chainlink is only partnered with "Academic" endeavors like OpenLaw and Accord (aside from a proof of concept). Do you really think a bunch of multibillion dollar tech companies wouldn't be chomping at the bit to get this tech? Do you really think they wouldn't have horded tokens long ago if this platform was SO necessary and needed?

Because everything is tied to BTC still, and because the team waited to release a thorough and working product to mainnet instead of half assing it like so many others in crypto do. This is still incredibly early to the party.
