Anyone own a Ledger Nano S - are they worth it?
Anyone own a Ledger Nano S - are they worth it?
generally no
Retards are panicking over this dip because they don't have a hardware wallet to lock in the price.
welcome to biz 2019 my friend. Sitting comfortably with my coins locked at the peak here while idiots panic. More coins for me to buy at a discount later.
oh yeah, you bet bud. me? locked and loaded at 18k still. haven't even came close to unlocking. all gains baby
trezor is far superior
Yes, worth it if you are holding and feel paranoid. Paper wallet is also secure, but not that convenient to use.
I got both, kind of the same in different flavors. Can recommend both, ledger looks a bit better and has a nice box to put it in and store it somewhere.
I got one recently with the intent to store LINK but I can't on this model afaik. I'll get a nano x or a trezor but I store BTC ETH XMR and LTC there. I still can't be arsed to look into storage of other coins tho. Anyone has any info on maximum number of wallets these things can hold? Also is an old x60 running ubuntu 6.04 good for generating and storing?
>Paper wallet is also secure
Only if you have a computer you never ever connect to the internet.
they are the same for all intents and purposes real differences are looks and maybe coins number of wallets supported
no you just have to be offline atvgeneration from a read only live os and reboot what you need is a dvd/usb stick
actually this is a misconception these things are completely unnecesary for long term cold store and present a physical attack vector.
what they are good for is protecting a hot wallet you actually spend from, from malware spyware hacks any purely cyber attack.
>Not locking your coins in ATH
fag degenerates
>Pm me if you want Trezors locked in with BTC @ 14.5k USD
All others can suck a bag o dicks
You use the ledger with MEW. It’s about as easy as it can get.
That’s not true. It’s way easier and just as effective to install your OS in a VM with networking disabled.
If it's connected to the internet, it's compromised.
Just like any semi-automatic handgun is always loaded.
Not my computer, but I’m also not a dumbass.
... said the gun owner just before shooting himself in the leg.
no don't do vm-s... they are not even remotely secure from the host direction as this was never an intended feature, and breakouts by malware also happened form vm.
just fucking start a live os your hardrive should be read only and not connected to the network generate the wallets and reboot your computer. that will wipe all residual data from the paper wallet generation 100%
NSA literally overwrote your hard drive firmware ages ago.
doesn't matter for multiple reasons.
but if you seriously believe so remove your harddrive if you want while you do this.
